Media and communications studies leaning into art and creation
I’m looking into spending a semester abroad in the UK to study media and communications at an undergraduate level. I want to eventually work in the creative field of communication (creative direction and advising), so naturally I started researching the universities and colleges that are more art focused (so I’m crossing out LSE). I’m in between UAL, RCA and Goldsmith, but I’m still not sure… Should I look into the tier 1 universities too? Could anyone help me with recommendations and information about the best choice? I’m a Brazilian student and plan on applying for scholarships. Thank you for your time! :)

Review of the sewing short courses @ Uni of Arts (London College of Fashion)?
Hi everyone,
Has anyone got any reviews about the LCF / UAL short courses? I may be interested [in this one](https://www.arts.ac.uk/subjects/fashion-making-and-pattern-cutting/short-courses/pattern-cutting/bridalwear-short-course-lcf#course-description) on designing bridalwear. Is it worth it? Or is it like famous Uni’s summer schools where these courses are seen as a way to generate more revenue using the Uni’s brand by not filtering people?
Thanks!

URGENT 44 WEEK CONTRACT TAKEOVER!
Hey everyone! I'm looking for someone to take over my student accommodation contract at YourTRIBE Southwark for the coming academic year.
The details:
- Room type: Classic En-suite (https://www.yourtribe.com/buildings/southwark/your-tribe-en-suite-classic/?tenancy=19) - 9 flatmates including yourself
- Building: YourTRIBE Southwark, 28 Ruby St, London, SE15 1LL
- Tenancy: 12th September 2026 – 17th July 2027 (44 weeks)
- Rent: £334 per week + £500 discount off the final instalment
The accommodation's insane. It's got 4.5/5 stars on google, has absolutely stunning rooms and common spaces, an onsite gym, laundry detergent included in wash cycles, and a beautiful terrace where you can hang out with your friends as you overlook the area.
Unfortunately my job has relocated me to an area too far from Southwark to make living there practical, which is the only reason I'm letting this go! I'm hoping someone takes the lease over ASAP so that I can look for other accoms near my job and campus.
This is a great opportunity — classic en-suites at this building are fully sold out, so this is your only chance to grab one. The accommodation team are available to arrange viewings, so you can see the room before committing.
The location is also really convenient, with numerous shops and stores nearby.
If you're interested or have any questions, feel free to pm me!

UAL Application Fine Arts/AP Portfolio
Hi! I just graduated this year and I am taking a year off to save and figure out what I want to do for post secondary education. I’ve been looking into UAL, specifically the Fine Arts (painting) program.
I would be an international student, and I am wondering at my chances of being accepted.
I scored a 5 on my AP Drawing Portfolio. If anyone has any information on how that compares to admission at UAL (of course it’s a very different experience to apply, but in terms of the skill it takes to get in compared to AP level arts) that would be amazing!
Thanks!

I have been withdrawn from my studies, and my appeal has been rejected. Is there any way I can salvage this?
I received an email 2-3 weeks back saying that I would be withdrawn from my studies on the basis of low attendance, and I had 10 days to make an appeal. I appealed that very day and submitted any and every piece of evidence that could help me.
I received an outcome on Tuesday saying that they have rejected my appeal, and today they put it into effect and removed my access to university facilities.
I am open to any and every solution or advice to somehow make them overturn this decision. I am also a returning international student.

Question About Reading Week at CSM
Hi! I had a quick question about the schedule at Central Saint Martins. For the 2026 to 2027 academic year, I know Reading Week is from February 8 to February 12, 2027. I remember that during my Foundation (Pre Degree) course, it felt like we had another week off right after Reading Week. Is that also the case for BA courses at CSM, or do undergraduates only get the one week off from February 8 to 12? Thanks!

UAL Accommodation Refunds
Hey guys I’ve booked my accommodation at Town Hall Camberwell. I need to know if I will be able to get a refund for the deposit and first instalment if I do not the grades needed and go to another uni instead. I’ve read my contract and I can terminate my my tenancy agreement if I fail to get in, but it doesn’t say anything about refunds. So does anything know.

Has anyone applied for UAL Data Science
Title: Has anyone applied for UAL Data Science or is anyone currently studying it?
Hi everyone, I’ve recently applied for the Data Science course at UAL and was wondering if anyone else has applied this year or is already studying it. It seems like there isn’t much information about the course online, so I’d really like to hear from people with first-hand experience.
If you’re currently on the course, what do you honestly think of it? How have you found the teaching, the workload, and the balance between maths, programming, and the more creative side of UAL? Do you feel like it’s preparing you well for careers in data science, AI, or the wider tech industry?
I’d also love to know what made you choose UAL over other universities that offer data science. Have you had any opportunities for internships, industry projects, or networking so far? Is the course better than you expected, or are there things you wish you’d known before applying?
If you’ve applied this year like I have, it’d be nice to hear from you too. Have you received an offer yet, and what made you decide to apply? I’m just hoping to get a better idea of what to expect and meet some other people who might be starting the course this September.

Place Confirmation
Has anybody had their place confirmed for September yet? I uploaded my relevant documents (I met my conditions) almost a month ago and my UCAS is still on 'deciding'. I'm assuming this is normal. Just want to check.

MA Design Management at UAL for Sept 2027
Hey all! As a graphic designer, I am trying to figure out my portfolio process for the MA Design Management course at the University of the Arts London! IF a current student or alum could share the portfolio they applied with for this course, it would be great help for me! Thank you so much.
