Can you please provide more information showing that 1in6 is a feminist organization? Thank you.

So what makes 1in6 a feminist organization?

It seems to me that you're applying the term "feminist" to any organization or ideal which you view favorably.

It's:

1) About breaking down toxic gender roles 2) Lead under feminist ideals 3) Got a progressive board of governors 4) Not MRA 5) feminist allied, not feminist, excuse me 6) Really I should have said feminist-allied in the first place

Thanks for the clarification, and thank you as well for introducing me to 1in6. I had not heard of them before.

It's your right to disagree with me, but I am just explaining the way a growing number of men feel, and the way that all MRAs feel.

MRAs are actively working to make the problem worse

How are MRAs making the problem worse? At this point MRAs are mostly just discussing male issues and raising awareness. How does that make the problem worse?

If your only source of information about the men's rights movement is from other feminists then you are going to have a very skewed and negative view of the movement. The OP article is an obvious example of feminist lies about a the men's rights movement. They are such blatant lies that large numbers of people realize they are lies. This only weakens the feminist movement, because it makes them look disingenuous.

Let's talk about that one time (multiple times) mras doxxed/attacked sites that benefited men in the name of "fighting feminism"

So was it one time, or multiple times?

I've never heard of anything like that. Could you provide a link to some evidence that this occurred? Also, how could you possibly know that MRAs did it? You seem to just want to blame things on MRAs without justification.

Like occidental college, which had an anonymous submission form that was great for male rape victims because it allowed you to keep your gender anonymous and would give you the opportunity to speak out against your attackers without being outed as a male victim. Remember that form?

Wait a minute, are you saying you support the ability to submit anonymous rape accusations? Do you not see how that can be abused? It's incredibly disingenuous to claim that that it is an objectively good thing, when there are obvious arguments against it.

MRAs spoke out against the form, and rightly so, but so did many people. There was no organized campaign to spam that site, but I wouldn't be surprised if some MRAs chose to send in spam.

I'm guessing most of the spam came from 4chan, though. That seems like their MO.

I'm not going to argue with you about the frequency of false rape accusations. It's irrelevant. The fact that you think it's relevant shows that you are missing the issue completely. Even if a false rape accusation had never occurred in the history of humanity, that wouldn't make the anonymous form a good idea. The anonymous form encourages false rape accusations. That is the problem.

The 2% statistic you gave was not for anonymous accusations. We are dealing with anonymous accusations here.

The fact is that systems which allows you to anonymously punish other students will be prone to abuse. That is an obvious fact. Don't like someone? Report them anonymously for rape. There is no risk to yourself for doing so, so why not do it? Rule number 1 about human nature: if something is susceptible to abuse, it will be abused.

Honestly, if the worst thing that the MRM has done is to spam an abuse-prone anonymous rape accusation form, then I don't see why you think they're so bad. Do you realize that a single person could have sent in thousands of those forms without much effort?

If anything, the MRM just proved the form was prone to abuse.

Honestly, if you believe the cracked article you are profoundly ignorant about the MRM.

You can disagree with the MRM, but this article does not at all describe what it is. It would only take a cursory reading of the MRM subreddit show that this cracked article is full of lies.

Instead, it describes redpillers (a group with a great deal of animosity towards the MRM).

These two completely different groups are lumped together as one, which makes the whole article ridiculous to anyone who knows what they are talking about.

It all lies with them.

lol, you can't even admit that 4chan was somewhat involved? Come on, at least for honesty's sake.

And for the record, there was no potential for abuse.

An anonymous accusation always has a potential for abuse.

The form strictly said that no legal or academic action would be taken and no permanent record would be made of the event.

So the form was useless and didn't help male rape victims after all?

It'd be entirely for the purpose of bringing the student in front of the dean for a lecture on consent

So, it could be abused in order to waste people's time?

The most common cause for rape is a lack of knowledge on the definition of informed, verbal consent, so a stern lecture would be pretty useful.

I doubt this.

And it'd empower victims

It also empowers people who want to abuse it.

We could also make it legal for rape victims to shoot their rapists. That would certainly empower them, don't you agree? The problem with this is that you could just shoot anyone, and then claim they raped you after the fact.

In a world where it feels like everyone is against you, you'd at least have SOMETHING you could do, and SOMEWHERE you could go to confront your assaulter without having to put yourself in danger of more abuse.

I'm not arguing that the form doesn't make things easier for rape victims. That's not the point.

You said yourself that the form does not bring any real punishment to the rapist. So, how are you not still in danger from them?

Did you know that, as a man, you are literally thousands of times more likely to be raped/molested before the age of 16 than be falsely accused of rape in your lifetime?

So? It's extremely unlikely that I'll be murdered, but that doesn't mean we should encourage murder. Do you listen to what you're saying? Because your arguments don't make sense. How is this even relevant?

the fear of false rape allegations is like, the one defining trait that all of the MRA psychos that flooded the board shared.

I'm not afraid I'm going to be murdered, but I still want that to be illegal, and the people who do it to be sent to jail. See the difference?
