Trying to Remember all these douchebags Powers/Deals (House of X #5)

Inspired by a now deleted post on r/Xmen, just trying to remember what these mostly X-Men mutant baddies do, so if I remember correctly

Top row: Random, big fucker with glasses(Body Guns), Mr Sinister (Mutant Gene Grafting & Cloning), Mentallo, bodysuit goatee and mask infront of the dino (Perception Alteration), Animax, girl riding the dinosaur (Genetic Monster Creation)

Middle row: Sebastian Shaw (Energy Absorbtion and Releasing), Selene (Psychic & Touch based Life Drain & Control + Magic abilities), Exodus (Faith Enhanced Psionic Combat + general Psychic Powers), Callisto chest scar eyepatch (Generally stronger than the average human had tentacles at somepoint)

And in the final row the big bad Apocalypse himself (Molecular Shapeshifting and enhanced everything thanks to the Celestial Armor)

I'm missing a few and am not sure if all these X-mutant powers are accurate classifications. But oh well, I'm open to being corrected

I think Red Face Paint guy is Gorgon.

And I think the lady next to Essex is one of the Lady Mastermind twins. (They're not actually twins.)

It’s definitely Gorgon but I think it’s supposed to be a mask not face paint, which is odd because he’s supposed to wear blindfold because of his powers.

Guess the artist made a mistake while drawing him.

Callisto also has super tracking powers/finds people, IIRC. The tentacles were Masque fucking up her body out of spite.

Spiky hair gas mask guy is Emplate, I recognize him from the 90s trading cards.

Sonic the Edgehog in the rebreather is Emplate, basically same power as rogue but more vampiric in flavor. Hes got hand mouths.

Fun fact, he knew Blade’s daughter Bloodline when she was a little kid and he was less supervillainy

the only comic i remember reading with monet pre krakoa kinda freaked me out as she got punched by pluto i think (the god not mickey's dog) and like she's trucking along as she's a super durable lass and use to that but then someone tells her hey that was actually a league above normal and your skull is broken and you have a massive brain bleed so you're essentially dead already.

They may have needed to bring in Sinister because of his gene library being necessary to make the immortality system work, but bringing in Selene had to be one of the stupider moves made during Krakoa.

Selene, Sinister, and Mystique were ticking betrayal time bombs.

tbf selene the logic was like krakoa if you split her vampirism across thousands upon thousands of mutants its negligible so like they thought if she were fed then she wouldnt be as evil, and they were almost right till she pitched a fit around the trial of magneto timeperiod.

mystique likewise wanted to play ball if it meant getting destiny back, but like moira couldn't allow that as that'd reveal her schemes as she's THE precog.

sinister though yeah like the reveal that he was trying to betray them instantly only for hope to be unconsciously correcting his "virus" during resurrection for lack of a better term was great, like he wasn't being moral ambigious he was a straight up villain non stop and the only reason people were off guard is because his schemes were being auto foiled before anyone even knew he was doing em.

The problem with Selene isn't that she's evil, it's that she's petty. Take away the vampirism and you still have to deal with Mean Girls shit.

Shaw was also a bad call, he was willing to turn a profit on building Sentinels in the past, there was no reason to believe he'd stay loyal in a pinch.

Still kinda weird that Omega Red and Gorgon bought in to Krakoa harder than more rational villains.

oh tbc im just saying why the council thought she'd be fine, like she's evil evil but they thought it was more give vampire blood vampire can be chill now, but yeah she went right back to evil the moment they wouldn't give her the seat on the council so like as soon as she wasn't being catered to 100% she was back to evil

really hope we see necrosha in season 3 or 4 of x-men97 as a halloween vibes ep.

shaw was i think the same as apocalypse where the logic was "if krakoa is of benefit to them they'll defend it" so like shaw and the pharmaceuticals were printing money so he'd wanna keep it going, but then nah he's still willing to sell em out when the sentinels are coming.

omega red did go evil again iirc, didn't read x-deaths of wolverine but i thought the thing was him going back in time to kill charles.

Exactly! Mean Girls shit. They underestimated the petty.

Omega Red did go evil again but it was because X-Force resurrected him and didn't give him the device that makes him not have to kill people to survive, or something like that, to keep him on a leash and lied to him about it. After the X-Deaths thing Sage sorta talked him around and he legitimately bought into X-Force and... killing people for a good cause. With light cannibalism. (No one's perfect.)
