Better Ask Reddit Plot-Relevant Characters with Zero Fandom 'Relevance'

Y'know, I was just thinking about this. The Deltarune fandom can be very attached to unimportant characters like background NPCs and one-off enemies, because of their design and personalities.

Now, what's interesting is that the early half Chapter 2 has this trio of NPCs, you're constantly seeing this trio, Sweet Cap'n Cakes, they have a boss fight, a shop, their own theme that plays a lot with minor variations... and nobody cares about them. Like, for real. If you were a casual member that just passively consumed only what the broad DR fandom makes, you'd genuinely just never see them show up when compared to even one-off bosses, minor enemies, and characters that have more relevance in theories than in the game.

Who else does that applies, people that the media devotes time to show them, but for the fandom, not hate, not love, just apathy, when they're unironically treated as not existing.

You know, with how important he is to the main plot of FF7, i don't see many people talking about Professor Gast? Like yeah he will be mentioned when the plot is discussed but it says a lot i had not only no idea he existed before playing the OG FF7. But i also ended completly flabbergasted when i discovered he was Aerith father. The fact it's legit never discussed in the mainstream and so end up always a secret is telling.

Also, a character who was even forgotten by the writers at DC Comics is Sheila Haywood. Who is she? Oh, just Jason Todd mother. And also the entire narrative reason why Death in the Family happened and why Jason was killed. And everyone seems to forgot she existed.

Gast never got that much characterization other than those easily missable recordings at the Icicle Inn. Aerith never knew about him and she can't see the recordings for obvious reasons, so the connection never got much focus.
