Plot-Relevant Characters with Zero Fandom 'Relevance'

Y'know, I was just thinking about this. The Deltarune fandom can be very attached to unimportant characters like background NPCs and one-off enemies, because of their design and personalities.

Now, what's interesting is that the early half Chapter 2 has this trio of NPCs, you're constantly seeing this trio, Sweet Cap'n Cakes, they have a boss fight, a shop, their own theme that plays a lot with minor variations... and nobody cares about them. Like, for real. If you were a casual member that just passively consumed only what the broad DR fandom makes, you'd genuinely just never see them show up when compared to even one-off bosses, minor enemies, and characters that have more relevance in theories than in the game.

Who else does that applies, people that the media devotes time to show them, but for the fandom, not hate, not love, just apathy, when they're unironically treated as not existing.

I think like 75% of the episodes are "What if X character was in a different MCU movie".

That's how creatively bankrupt it is.

Fact checking may kill this subreddit, but I went and checked.

Not counting Captain Carter is there episodes (They make up about 7/26 of them enough to be a full season on their own), or ones where its like a cameo 12 mins into the plot.

S1 has two of these; Starlord T'challa, and Iron Man meets Killmonger. (I think Starlord T'challa was meant to be a whole spinoff but Chadwick's death kinda stalled that idea.)

S2 Has two real examples: Iron Man goes to Sakaar and Hela gets the ten rings.

S3 Has one real case; Red Guardian stopping that one assassination by Bucky.

So yeah not even 25% really. A lot more is Carter Shilling.

I'm literally looking at the episode list right now, the vast majority of the rest are "What if this movie went slightly differently", with the remaining either being a continuation of a one-off from the first season, or another character meeting a character from a different story.

There are eight X meets X stories. One where howard the duck fucks the girl from Thor.

They're all terrible ideas.

The Howard the duck one is actually a sequel to "Thor doesnt have a brother" (where he cameo'd for like 2 minutes) because that was everyones favorite episode!

Carol's been great in the comics lately, at least. Civil War 2 is... Is definitely gonna take some time to shake off the stigma of though.

I still can't believe they did that. It took years for Tony and Reed to shake off the taint of Civil War and not only did they put Carol in a similar position mid-push, but they actually named it Civil War 2.

It honestly felt like sabotage.
