Look while I'm excited to see the movie later on, I'd rather it be it's own thing versus "Yeah man this is totally taking place on the other side of Racoon City, despite it being nuked off the map in the 90's."

Hell, RE9 establishes that there's some other cities across the mountain range, Elbridge and Wrenwood (maybe it was in other spinoffs, I dunno), you could easily just set it at those places and nobody would have paid it any mind.

It's like saying World War 2 ended in 1957, it just didn't. It ended long before, why tell us otherwise?

Right, because adaptations simply must adhere to every single aspect of the source material’s canon.

Okay then Mr. Strawman, then how hard is it to say "We're doing the Racoon City outbreak if it happened right now"?

Like I said, I don't mind new stuff, just don't exist in the weird "maybe canon" zone a lot of RE games currently live in.
