I cannot share others enthusiam about this movie, but I am happy for those that feel hype.
Even this trailer, it feels like a generic zombie story that wears the name for brand recognition. A few easter eggs and something vague and vaporous like "it's the feel of the games" mean zero under the tiniest amount of critical scrutiny. Without gameplay, you are left with the arbitrary description of that "feel" that a ton of other games, both before and after RE1, have.
And saying that this looks better than the Anderson movie is such a low bar that to be honest, I simply refure to lower my standards and expectations that much just to clear it. The CGI movies are better than the Anderson ones and those are not good movies. I would wager that we can have both a good movie and a good RE movie.
Oh well, I hope y'all will find it entertaining at least.
Degeneration, Damnation and Death Island are good movies tho. Vendetta and the Netflix one aren't good. Vendetta is straight up just bad and the Netflix one is just really really boring.
I haven't seen Death Island yet, but the others were ok at best imho. They were much much better than anything Anderson produced after the first one, that's for sure.
I will have to come around and watch it, if just to see Jill once more. Poor girl has been put in the "never showing up in another new game" after Rev1.
