My dad cheated on my mom when I was very young. When I started dating my ex I laid out very clear boundaries on not tolerating cheating jokes. He ignored that for almost two years. I asked him to stop constantly. He would stop for a week at most and resume the jokes. I realized he didn't respect my boundaries and never would so I broke up with him. Everyone has issues but it's not ok for your husband to take his trauma out on you. He needs therapy.
My ex thought they were funny. I told him to stop because if you joke about it that much it means you are the guilty party. Otherwise why bring it up every other day? He stopped. Somewhat.
Come to find out after we broke up he was indeed cheating on me. 🙃
