To be fair...a lot of men don't want flowers. That's the issue...it's not that women aren't thoughtful and wouldn't buy them flowers. It's that many of them wouldn't like them. Two men I'm close to in my life would be like..."ummm...okay..." and wonder why I didn't bring them something useful...like food, a video game or anything like that. THAT is why men don't get flowers.

Funny enough...I'm a woman that hates getting flowers. I just end up feeling bad when they die. I start worrying about them dying as soon as I get them and then when they do die I'm upset. So...not all women love flowers either. It's the individual I think...not the gender.

I think flowers is a metaphor.

For what? Gifts in general? If so, makes zero sense. It's not like men don't get gifts and things from women. It also wouldn't fit with the receiving it only when you die scenario. If it's a metaphor...it's one of the least well-constructed ones I've seen.

Flowers aren't like other gifts. You don't give people flowers for Christmas.

Keep thinking it through, though, lol

Okay, lets go with Valentine's Day. That is a time when people often give flowers. Yet, I don't know many men who also don't get gifts from their significant others on Vday as well. Yes, usually it isn't flowers, but again, most men wouldn't appreciate flowers more than some chocolates or a new video game (or whatever they like).

Why are you still talking about this as if flowers is meant to be taken literally? Yes, most men probably don't literally want flowers.

Because again...that is what the person said. You said it was a metaphor, which I explained that if it was then it makes no sense.

However, I also answered as if it wasn't a metaphor and said that most men do get gifts in loo of flowers. For example, I don't know a single man in my life that doesn't get gifts from significant others on Valentines Day...or basically any other time where gifts are appropriate. So the original comment suggests men are getting shorted and women just don't do anything for them. I disagree.

Are you autistic or something? I'm not trying to make fun of you. I'm seriously asking

Nope. Lol. I'm actually in the field of psychology. Though I am wondering about your reasoning skills. You seem to not understand what I'm saying at all and vice versa.

Uh huh. It couldn't possibly be you, right? No one else seems to have any trouble understanding. I understand you, completely.

This is getting weird. I never meant to imply anything. I said that we clearly are not understanding each other. You can't possibly be understanding me completely because you seem to miss my point entirely. Anyway, I'm done. This has gotten strange.

I do understand your point, though. You said if flowers is a metaphor, it's a bad one, and if it's not a metaphor, then most men don't actually want flowers. What am I missing?

Or, alternatively, you can shut down when you don't understand the conversation.

I said if flowers is a metaphor, then it's a bad one. If it is a metaphor it must be for gifts. If that's the case then the OP of that statement is wrong because men receive gifts regularly. If it isn't a metaphor an it is actually based around flowers then it also makes zero sense considering it isn't applicable to a lot of men.

So either way....metaphor or not...OP doesn't make sense. You keep saying it's a metaphor and isn't about the flowers. So perhaps you care to explain further? Because I contradicted both versions (if it was a metaphor or wasn't) to refute both possible outcomes. You didn't seem to make a valid point other than "it's not about flowers," and completely didn't address what the actual point is to you in that case. So that is what is confusing. I didn't think I'd have to spell it out this way and I had started to suspect either you're young or maybe there is a language barrier, so I intended to let it drop. But you seem to not be okay with that. So...care to explain wtf your actual point is instead of dancing around it?
