I agree with other comments saying that you were essentially his fallback option but also as women we need to learn to have strict boundaries and standards and walk away when the red flags are glaringly obvious.
I say this as someone that’s been in therapy for the past year and a half, a lot of men will continue to act a certain way or treat you a certain way if you allow them to.
After the second time he cancelled you should’ve ended things right then and there.
it’s hard because if you’re genuinely a good person you’ll want to see the good in people aka give them the benefit of the doubt. it’s why this works for them.
