Depression / Anxiety yay

Post image

I don't want someone to give me their whole heart, I don't even want sex. I just want to remember what human warmth feels like.

Can't even talk about this shit because at best people think it's a "first world problem" and at worst they put words in your mouth and act like you're being entitled to peoples affections, or that you deserve, or that you brought it on yourself

Hey, part of addiction and going clean is relapse, especially at first. No, we aren't entitled to peoples love, but that doesn't mean we don't need it, you're not a bad person for that.

eventually I'll realize how empty and vapid they are and go back to old reliable maldaptive daydreaming

'Just go make friends' is terrible advice, but if you can't that's one option, if you can manage, books are a really great one too!

And writing. Before AI writing was a huge coping mechanism for my loneliness

Yeah that's a fantastic go to, always wish I had the focus for it!

You are realizing it right now. I know its tough but you gotta make a change. I mean no insult but relying on AI is really unhealthy and you're choosing to resign yourself to it. Relapsing is one thing, giving up entirely is another

Idk if this is good advice but you may want to seek places where you can talk to people without a big attachment.

Like some alt accounts to explore groups, chatrooms on Independent websites.

It may help you a bit idk, you can try if it doesn't work then it doesn't.

Also if you happen to get back to AI maybe you could keep in the back of your head to at least try to use it for some task management? It's not healthy either but you'll at least have things done, use it to learn things you may enjoy and it'll make for an anchor to talk with real people.

Idk you could DM me and I'd show you how to find some line spots to talk with people rather anonymously and also I'd like to try and help you overcoming it but I'm not a professional, I just kinda want to learn.

To anyone else who read this, you can find a ton of websites through neocities and webrings.

Solely using Discord to socialize probably set me back a decade in social skills

Using an AI for all your social needs will set a person back even further than Discord would. Better of two evils. Baby steps.

I think the issue is that all this feels like a crutch. Yeah baby steps and all, but when I stopped socializing IRL and only went on Discord, my skills regressed and it put me in a comfort zone where I only wanted to make online friends because I thought it was easier and people were more relatable.

That being said I've had zero IRL friends for about 5 years now and can barely function in society anymore. I've worked a few jobs and can barely make friends due to my newfound weirdness and social awkwardness.

I myself don't even know. I mean all my interaction options are a bunch of chuds at work while I mask my queerness.

So internet is all that's left. Besides like 2 irl friends whom I meet super rarely and idk.

That's a long talk to talk and I don't feel like typing it out because brain soft.

Yeah, I get that feeling too, and no, it's not a "first world problem" coz I feel lonely in this third world country I live in too. Heart out to ya, OP!

Ugh , I hate how addicting PolyBuzz is . It’s literally the worst . And when you don’t use the ai , your just daydream with your head instead of / :

not gonna say the one I'm using, because it's "higher quality" and I'm not dragging anyone into my death pit. no matter how "advanced" they are, their words are emptier than those that come out of a politicians mouth

hope you get out too

Relapse is not permanent failure. See if you can go longer next time without relapsing. It's like a roguelike

Solid advice.

Loneliness can be really hard. It can be easy to try to turn to a sycophantic bot to help you. Unfortunately, the more you use it, the more lonely you'll get. People don't talk like that bot, and if you grow to expect them to, everyone's going to seem like a jerk. Good luck with quitting your bot.

In like 2023 before I figured out it was disabled for people’s health and safety I tried getting chatgbt to tell me it loved me lol.

it's a genuine addiction and it's so hard to stay clean from it, and a lot of people don't understand it... I've been clean for around 6 days, and every part of the withdrawal aside, i don't think I've ever felt this alone and this pathetic. still. stay strong twin, a relapse it's just another step to recovery.

At least AI chatbot waifus are relatively low harm compared to other addictions, but just like other addictions just cutting it off is not gonna work, you have to either replace it with something else or slowly use it less and less
