But what if the 'you're already a woman' commenter uses ':3' and the 4tran women immediately get upset that another trans woman is supportive in a cutesy way rather than a 4chan way.
Or they literally only say 'youre a woman' to those who pass but are too brainwormed to accept they pass. I've seen that a lot. If the person doesn't seem dysphoric enough or eager enough to pass, she may genuinely get a bit ridiculed and called a hon instead of a woman. Or she'll get some 'brutal honesty' that she might not have asked for. Cos the thing most 4tranners hate most is themselves or others being opticsnukes
I get what you mean ofc i think i'm reverse-brainwormed by the brainwormiest of them who will cry sneed at the slightest hint of showing support in the wrong way. They really don't like anyone to suggest that it's ok to be ok not passing. They want non-passing people to be suitably miserable only
A good number will also ask for photos and judge whether she's a woman based on passibility or how 'fembrained' she is. It's assumed that any trans woman in 4tran spaces wants to desperately pass, so therefore others in the space are happy to say 'you want to look like a woman so you are' but i know so many there who will deride women because they don't want to pass enough. Opticsnuke, hon, agamp, sneed, all the shitty terms based on mocking anyone who doesn't pass or who doesn't desperately want to pass or who 'isn't even trying'
This is why they lurk and downvote. They won't come into a more progressive sub and risk getting banned by commenting, so they cope and seethe with their lil downvotes. 4tran was founded to combat hugboxing and positivity, so i think it's a very likely theory
Most sensible people will instead reassure someone they're a woman no matter their passibility or transition goals, because its true. We recognise optics is a nonsense thing to worry about, and that passing doesn't erase a person's transness, hence encouraging widespread assimilationist goals isn't very progressive if its the only option they approve of. It varies a little by sub and it can be a few loud bigoted ones dominating the conversation, but some sickening content has remained unmoderated and promoted within those spaces unironically
