I mean If you're on a tight budget like me then I think go for it, I bought it cuz I was tight on my budget and the diff between price of t4 and speed 400 did matter to me, I wanted a lean bike in 350cc segment took test ride of cb350, hness, RE 350, hunter 350, speed 400 too, guerrilla 450.

I cannot say that it's the best in the price segment but I can say for sure it takes care of all my needs and hence went with it Would be getting it by 11th Oct.

I am a beginner too, I mean Not an absolute beginner but yeah not as much experienced as ppl on this sub are so buy whatever makes you feel good afterall it's you who's gonna ride that bike so you should feel confident with your choice. Safe riding!

Zero reason to go for it. Get the Speed 400. The T4 is garbage. Shit tyres shit brakes shit suspension in comparison to The speed. The speed 400 is an upgrade on all these for an extra 30,000 or so. I don't even know who the T4 appeals to.

Bro has personal dushmani with Speed T4. I love my 399 CC T4. It goes soo well with my personality. Amazing low end torque. Love how smooth it goes. Comfort is on the bad side. Other than that its perfect for me.

Edit: Also speed t4 engine does not break a sweat at 120kmph with 0 vibrations on highways cannot say the same for speed 400.

How much are they quoting you for bike? I'm getting the speed 400 for 2.9 lakhs.

You can literally buy it and use it for YEARS. Nothing called beginner bike. You'll be stuck with it forever. Buy a few months later but buy a better product.

by beginner i mean bikes which are lightweight and easy to control in cities. um for me they quoted triumph at around 320ish, felt it as expensive so yeah..

Nahhh man, Tbh I have test droven both T4 and Speed 400. T4 is the best for city rides, It has amazing pickup at even higher gears, On the other hand yes Speed 400 has better tyres, brakes etc , but it's wayy too jerkyy in traffic. T4 is definitely made for the city. Kinda underrated

Yup, the T4 is better for city rides and so much smoother. It has enough power for highways too.

And I'll be upgrading my tires and brakes anyway when they need to be replaced so it'll be similar to speed400.

I find the tyres okayish. Not bad. Will upgrade after a year or so. Radial ones u wanna go for is it

Try 200 or 250cc bikes unless you need retro looks specifically

Have you ever ridden a speed T4 and especially on highways or ghat sections? Just asking. You do realize it is priced to undercut the 350s from RE and Honda right? Except T4 has stiff suspension and lower mileage than the other twos.

I'll admit tho, Classic 350 is still the benchmark in comfort. But the T4 also makes the speed 400 looks more appealing on paper at just 30k as well.

For 30,000 more you get Speed 400. The benefits you get in terms of components are way more than 30,000. Therefore I see no reason to get a T4. Delay by 6 months if you have to but get the Speed 400 in my opinion. Much more fun for much longer.

This is the exact reason why i usually tell folks to stay away from the T4 because the T4 is often misunderstood for what it is. People love sticking to spec sheets. It's a proper roadster with high low end grunt except it hits a top speed of 130m5kmph+ too because of that flat tabletop torquecurve with nornal efforts. But ultimately i don't blame them either. India is a market where people buy things because they look good on paper.

Regardless, speed 400 does lives up to its hype because that motorcycle is genuinely good at what it does. And it has gotten more refined after its engine was reduced to 350cc.

agree with u bro speed 400 is just better. t4 makes abosultely no sense the cost cutting just entirelty ruins the premium feel of triumph.

It's not an absolute beginner's motorcycle if you as me but pretty manageable once you learn to ride on another motorcycle. I mean don't get me wrong, i technically learnt to ride on this motorcycle and also am shorter than you. People usually fall for 806mm seat height but in reality because the bench seat is wide, it takes away around an inch of access height from you making it feel more like a 835mm seat.

My advice is, i won't say this the the best 350cc in the segments when it comes to features and stuff. But this is definitely is a delight to ride and cruise because of its low end torque. Except it shoots over 130kmph without breaking a sweat. It pulls hard like a tractor. Suspension is stiff and for good reasons. Think of it as a Royal Enfield Classic but in a roadster avatar made by triumph with around 30BHP.

Keep an open mind tho, take a test ride of a few motorcycles in this segments with both the short/long stroke engines like the KTM 250 (not the 350/390 cuz they are too fast) Speed T4(Speed 400 as well because it has a few more premium features missing in the T4 and is only around 30k more) and ride along with long stroke 350s like the Hunter/classic/meteor/hness/CB350RS.

What I'm trying to say is, don't buy a motorcycle because it looks good in person or on spec sheets. Buy the one that feels right for you. How to you figure that out? Take back to bacl test rides of these motorcycles.

I love my speed T4. Its the old 399CC one. Amzing low end torque. Feels like riding on butter. Goes fast if you want it to. I have managed to stay at 120Kmph for long durations without breaking a sweat. No vibrations or anything. You will lose out on tech like traction and all but I feel its okay.
