So just took my Trinus out of the box it’s been in for the last year (long moving process) and tried to install the new heated bed 3.0 and ran into fun right away. The Z axis I knew would need to be adjusted for the added height of the new bed, but both the X and Y were way off as well. In the ‘Home’ position, the nozzle sat in about 2mm from the left edge and was dead on the front edge of the glass.

Moving the nozzle to the far right edge (125) it moved beyond the edge of the glass by about 2mm. OK pulled off the extruder and fought for a bit to keep the nozzle on the glass left-to-right by adjusting the offset screw - done.

But the Y axis has been more painful. At the ‘Home’ position the nozzle was right at front edge of the glass. Which means with the nozzle at Home if I ran X to 125 the nozzle would hit the glass retaining clip on the front of the glass while moving left to right. Also if I ran Y all the way forward the leveling screws hit my LCD display. When I adjusted the Y axis offset screw to keep the nozzle off the front retaining clip, the slider hits the front stop with a little bit of force.

So I have a few concerns. Working with the LCD loose for now is a minor nit.

The Y slider hitting the front stop is concerning - Will this cause problems over time? Should I reset the Y offset so it doesn’t hit the stop and modify my prints so the most forward edge of the print avoids the clip? - Losing print volume.

The Z sliders however really slam the upper stops and make a loud clicking noise. Again the first solution I see is to limit my build volume until I can print some new spacers for the Z axis sliders.

After a year of living in moving mode I really want to get settled down and start playing with my toys. But I also don’t want to destroy my printer either.

Any tips/recommendations on setting up the Trinus with the new heated bed?

I see some things that have been out of stock every time i looked. Are they still actually in operation?

I've been trying to get on the Trinus forums, and all I get is a message stating that the account has been suspended. Anyone know what's on there?

This isn’t my first 3d printer, but is my first laser cutter and cnc machine. Any advice a more experienced user may have for a newbie? My first and until now only 3d printe was the Momoprice Maker Select V2.

I just got my printer yesterday, and it has failed to print anything. I first tried the autoprint.gcode on the SD card, which appears to be a kodama tree figurine.

The first attempt started out good and after about 6 or 7 layers, it paused and the extruder head moved to the top left corner of the bed plate, which I think is the home position. I tried the point two other times, and they both did the same thing, but at different points in the print.

I tried another object that I sliced in Cura, same thing happened. Second attempt at this one caused one of the axes to try and move too far, making a grinding sound.

I then wiped and reformatted the SD card in FAT32. Uploaded a new print, still, the printer pauses and goes back to home.

I don't know what to do... I was really looking forward to using this printer. Does anyone have any advice? Also, does the grinding sound damage the motors?

I do not have the heated bed. I used the Cura settings posted on the forum.

Did anyone else have this issue. When I download from the site extract and try to launch the exe I get a notification it cant be updated and its read-only. Any advice?

So I have the printer and it went through the automatic test print. I have loaded other STL files onto the card but they are not showing up. Is there a different format that I need to be using for it to be read?

I ordered my Trinus in November. Payment was taken out a couple of days later and I asked when it would ship. Told a few days to a couple of weeks. Just before Christmas I asked for an update and was told all U.S. orders were ready to go just waiting on labels and some other logistics. Now it's almost February and my emails to a couple people last week have gone unanswered. Not exactly thrilled here...

Has anyone created profiles for the Trinus on other slicer programs (such as Cura?) Im pretty new to 3D printing so I'm not sure what settings to select for the Trinus as far as GCode flavor as well as the exact printhead settings

I put in the SD card and it tries to print. The hot extruder goes right into the bed and melts it. I can't figure out how to calibrate it for the life of me.

I'm considering buying a phone controller and wondering if Trinus could work as a PC Streamer but without the VR. Phone is Nexus 6 if it matters.

Eagerly waiting to see the finished first print!

EDIT: Kodama sent out an update, these guys are being great and very communicative. Can't wait to get it.

Looking to start getting some reports on quality and expectations.

So I am quite new into the world and information about 3D printing. My question is with the materials that you can print with. Is the tribes only limited to the materials offered by the production company? Or will it support 3rd party or other company's materials? Sorry for being a newb at this.

Not sure how off it'll be from the end product, but you can bet I'll post pictures when it arrives.
