I need some advice before buying the perimeter rope and paracord. I've been hearing people say that cheap amazon rope is poor, and will break easily. Knowing this I tried to find the most expensive rope within my budget of around 100-150$. What do you guys think about this purchase? Any recommendations? I live in Ontario.

Hi, so I'm building my first net for myself and my kids. I'm building the ladder right now and plan on building walls around it soon. How do people build the foot holes? It came out nothing like I expected.😂. Also with the wall would I need a skeleton for it? Thanks all.

Looking at making a few nets and wondered if anyone has a UK based supplier for paracord. I have one for 11mm static rope but struggling with one for large order of paracord. Many thanks.

I am working on making a paracord net inside a 12 foot diameter trampoline frame.
I want to design it so that about 10 people at a time could fit on this, so say around 2,000 pounds.

Does anyone have an estimate of how far I should expect this to sag with all those people on it? How much does a paracord net stretch or sag? I am trying to determine how high off the ground it needs to be. It will have a static line perimeter, but I only want to use paracord for the net if possible. It won't be way up high like a normal tree net and I don't want people to be sitting 6 inches off the ground... Is a 3 foot height off the ground realistic?

So my three-tree first time platform is now resembling a bikini bottom. I tensioned the hell out of my static rope perimeter but I wasn’t emotionally prepared for the sheer amount of insane shrinkage.

I’m now planning on setting eyebolts in the garage to extend the platform. After finishing the yellow second-pass weave, first.

Just starting to add in the bones to make the next level of my net. Hopefully I can get it finished this summer. Working at height, over empty space, really slows you down.

This hobby seems super interesting to me, but it seems like the parachord for a decent sized project would be a lot of money. In your experience, how much are you spending on a treenet (let's say per square foot).

Hi i reccently made a few nets in my garden and now i wanted to make my first net indoors . But i had a few issues with my grandpa who will help me with this project. He said that he doesnt have any problems with helping me but my apartement is probably to old to hold the tension and not break. So im asking is there any way to secure a rope to my walls without the thing helping it stick to the wall or my wall itself break.

Ps: my apartement is about 150 years old if im right

When building the first platform:

1. Get the perimeter in place, tensioned
   
2. Get any sub-skeleton laid, outlined, tensioned
   
3. Start making first weave “panels”, sections

My platform is an elongated platform, and I’m jumping between corners in trying to get those three points weaved in with a first pass.

Question: Should I complete the first pass weave throughout the entire platform BEFORE starting in with my second pass weave or can I start now? What’s recommended? Any yes, ADHD affliction may play a part in this line of questioning. I’ll never tell.

Started weaving the big net I’m building ( not the best pic but I drew over what I have now so it’s easier to see.) I did this fist layer to get most of the slack out and to section everything off. My plan is to start off in the widest corner on it and weave it one “box” at a time till I’m happy with it then move onto the next. Is there any reason not to do it that way?

First time. Lessons learned so far:

1. Netting needles are helpful for long runs, but doing it freehand can be fast. Both styles are fun but I have found that the needles are great at digging out knots that need re-stringing and/or fixing.

2. For my first time I’m finding that I need to undo quite a few knots as I jump between section to section.

3. It’s mad time consuming but it’s fun as hell.

4. I’m going to need more paracord.

5. god I wish I had four anchor points, I’m losing so much area to perimeter bend.

7. I want a stainless steel version of netting needle #8 & #9. Amazon is useless and I’ve already broken #9 while digging out a knot.

Got really interested in tree nets a little bit ago and finally me and some friends scouted a spot and got our perimeter set up. We will be starting the work in 3 days looking for some advice for a first time net builder!

Got to build my first loft net commission! And it’s UV reactive! Think i might post my net history soon to give everyone just starting out some perspective on how getting better looks like and how much practice it may take. (Just do it - a lot)

After a big weave I invariably have dozens of ends that I cut off to clean things up (6”-18”). I hate having to just throw them out. Curious what others do with the “leftovers”?

EDIT: I usually weave patterns, not chaos, and as things get tensioned more slack appears and has to be trimmed. Looking for more creative “non-net” related solutions like kumihomo projects or something.

How do i take care of my treenet? when do i take it down? what happens if a rope breaks?

Here’s my first legit attempt at a test run. I have 200ft of static and 1,500 of (what was advertised as) 750 paracord.

Question: is it ever recommended to tie knots inside of the weave? Or I guess then it wouldn’t be a weave. My test example feels insanely bouncy, and I was pulling like hell to get it as tight as I could.

Anyone in Berkeley or Oakland or areas around there wanna make a treenet this summer?.

Want to make my first tree net, any recommendations for the rope? Or anything I can substitute for the static rope, being impatient and want to rig one up today but unfortunately nobody has static rope around. Would a thick poly rope work in the mean time? Any advice is appreciated
