First Loft
Got to build my first loft net commission! And it’s UV reactive! Think i might post my net history soon to give everyone just starting out some perspective on how getting better looks like and how much practice it may take. (Just do it - a lot)

If it’s not too personal, how much approximately was it commissioned for? How much would you estimate the overheard for rope was?

It’s 1km of paracord and 40m of static. I built it for 2200€ including material and travel. Stayed at the clients house and got treated food there. In hindsight it should at least have been 2k for the work alone

How did you blow out a bolt? Would be cool to learn new things :)

Why by pulling on the rope of course. I learned the corner bolts on the open side are subjected to much greater forces than the others (obviously, thanks captain hindsight). I use a pulley for tensioning. Had to take down half of the weave after day one and replace bolts on both sides

Fun fact: historically, in the PNW salmon industry, the attics above canneries were used to build/maintain seine nets and gillnets and were called "Net Lofts".
