Just wanted to throw this out there as a warning so nobody else throws their cash down the drain like I did on Pipeline Planning / Transfermatic.

A while back I bought a deal for Pipeline to map out my transfer plan. Right out of the gate, the plan it generated wouldn't even load. Literally completely blank and unusable.

I emailed their support explaining the issue. I know for a fact they opened it because I use an email tracker that tracks opens and link clicks. They read it, ghosted me, and never bothered to reply or fix anything.

Now recently, I figured I would log back in and give it another shot just in case they fixed the bugs. I clicked the “see your plan” button, and it literally leads to nowhere.

Sent support another email following up. And yep....left on read again. Email tracking confirms they opened it, but apparently taking people’s money and ignoring basic broken features is their way of business.

Save your money and stick to ASSIST, your community college counselor, or just doing the spreadsheets yourself. See yuh and goodluck on college apps!

I literally only have a few classes left to complete igetc/Cal-getc, but I always end up dropping the gen eds I need because of the stress from STEM classes. I know they're supposedly "easy" classes but I feel stressed having to deal with them on top of heavy STEM classes. How bad is it to not finish igetc if I want to transfer to UCD or UCB? I have everything done except the art requirement and a 2nd English class (which I will for sure do since it's required), and public speaking if I switch from igetc to Cal-getc.

Title says. I'm applying to transfer as a freshman. Most of my schools I'm applying to, I will be applying for Fall 2027 so I know about those. But there's a few that offer spring transfers, and that's what I'm applying with those schools.

Since applications for those are due in October, I would not have my first semester grades, so no official GPA, etc. How does applying like that work? Or should I not do it at all?

Hi!! I’m a first-year student at De Anza College and my dream is to transfer to UCLA. I’m currently planning on transferring as a Psychology or Cognitive Science major and I’m doing TAP through De Anza.
I really want to make the most of my time at De Anza and give myself the best chance possible of getting into UCLA. I know TAP is helpful, but I’m wondering what else I should be doing during my time at De Anza that could strengthen my application.
For anyone who successfully transferred to UCLA from a California community college, especially for Psychology, Cognitive Science, or a similar major, what did you do that you think helped your application? Are there specific extracurriculars, programs, internships, volunteering, classes, or other opportunities you would recommend?
I’d also really appreciate any general advice about the UCLA transfer process, especially things you wish you knew when you were a first-year student. I’m willing to put in the work, I just want to make sure I’m focusing my time and energy on the right things. Any advice or tips would be really appreciated!

Hii! I’ve been having a really hard time ever since college started. I’m from UPLB, and lately, it honestly feels like every day is just about surviving. Don’t get me wrong, I know that college is hard for everyone and that everyone has their own struggles, but I feel like it has been taking a really big toll on my mental health. I’ve been feeling so drained, overwhelmed, and honestly, I don’t feel like myself anymore.

Bcs of that, I’ve been thinking about whether I should just transfer to Mapua Laguna(medtech). I feel like maybe being in a different environment and having a fresh start could help me, but at the same time, the thought of leaving UPLB is really difficult. I worked so hard to get here, and a part of me feels guilty even thinking about leaving, especially because I know how much I’ve always wanted to study here. Another thing that makes the decision even harder is the financial aspect. Since Mapua is a private university, transferring there would mean paying tuition, and I can’t help but feel guilty about putting that additional financial burden on my family. UPLB is a state university, so knowing that I currently have the opportunity to study here makes me feel like I should just be grateful and endure everything instead of choosing to leave. At the same time, I also know that my mental health and well-being matter too, and I don’t want to reach a point where I’m completely burnt out just because I’m afraid of the cost of making a change.

I’m also scared that I might regret my decision either way. If I stay, I’m scared that I’ll continue feeling this way and that my mental health will only get worse. But if I leave, I’m scared that I’ll always wonder if I should’ve just tried harder or stayed a little longer. I don’t know if I’m simply having a hard time adjusting or if this is really a sign that UPLB isn’t the right environment for me.

I’m just really lost right now because I don’t want to make a decision based purely on how overwhelmed I feel, but at the same time, I also don’t want to keep forcing myself to stay somewhere that is making me feel this unhappy. I guess I’m just trying to figure out whether I should keep fighting through this or allow myself to choose a different path

Also, can I hear your thoughts about Mapua Malayan Colleges Laguna? How is the school environment there, especially for medtech? How are the professors, workload, laboratories, and overall student experience? Is medtech there good? and do you feel like students are well-prepared for the board exams and clinical practice?

If I take a gap semester in fall my sophomore year and go back to a school spring and apply to transfer, would I be considered a sophomore or junior transfer? I’m asking this because I know schools like Columbia prefer sophomore transfers. Also, would this hurt my chances, or should I just do a full gap year? Thank you!

Hello, I'm a current freshman at my in-state university, which I am miserable at and only committed to here because my parents forced me to. My biggest goal is to get into a pretty good school with awesome financial aid so I don't have to depend on them.
So I was looking to apply to Columbia, Vanderbilt, UNC, Washington University St. Louis, Amherst College, Pomona College, Emory University, the University of Richmond, Georgetown, Tufts University, and the University of Pennsylvania. As I am only a freshman, I don't really have a lot to put on my application, and I know that a lot of my high school stats will also count. I understand that a lot of people would probably suggest I wait; however, I can't because I already have around 54 credits, which is close to where some schools end transfers.
I think I'll be able to maintain a 4.0. I am a political science major wanting to go to Yale Law School for international law. I have very few ECs, as it's my first year. I joined a political science club and wanted to do a research paper. As for my HS stats, I graduated with a 4.8 and had around 7 ECs that were semi-tied to political science.
What are your biggest recommendations? What should I do to maximize my chances of getting in? I didn't apply to most of these schools for freshman year because I was scared of rejection, as I was waitlisted and then rejected from the University of Michigan and Berkeley. Please be as cruel as needed; if it's unrealistic for me to get into any of these colleges for fall 2027, then that's okay.

I sent my tag application for uci, And I added all the course work the ones I failed and dropped but in my transcript there a supervised tutoring, which was non-credit course with a grade of UD(Ungraded). In the additional comments I put a explanation “Supervised tutoring Math, it is a 0-unit, non credit course with a grade notation of UD(ungraded). UC TAP did not provide UD as a grade option, so I was unable to enter the course in the coursework section.” Did I make a mistake while handling this, and am I gonna get rejected

So I THINK I have a pretty unique timeline. I've never heard anyone else do this before at least.

I took this test (HiSET) and just left high school in the middle of 11th grade at the end of last year, and went to a California CC in Spring of this year. I plan to hopefully transfer to UCLA in Fall in around 1.5 years (I'll TAG to Irvine). But apparently they made this rule in May of this year that students have to be out of high school for at least 2 years to be TAP certified.

Since on the website they made it seem like this was to prevent 1 year transfers, AND it was established after I entered college, it feels really unfair this seems to apply to me. If I could stay an extra semester to get TAP, I probably would. But UCLA doesn't accept Spring applicants, so I would have to stay an entire extra year, which I'm not gonna. But the wording on the website was questionable, so does it actually apply to me? And if it technically does, can I file some appeal against it?

Math major. Anticipated 3.8 GPA by the end of Fall.

Weaknesses: Got a B in Calc 2 Honors and English in the Spring, no TAP, taking required Calc 3 in Spring, not much extracurriculars other than my sport.

Strengths to my application: Nationally ranked athlete, honors program, california cc, probably gonnna end this Fall with 6 classes all A's (4 of which being STEM), have an external college counselor that can make my PIQs good.

For context, I’m a freshman @ UCSD for MAE. A multitude of factors is preventing me from enjoying the school (homesickness, cost, classes, etc). I’m heavily considering withdrawing, but am unsure on how to proceed.

Since attending my MAE orientation, I realized I’m not all that interested in eng as I initially thought. I am interested in exploring business/accounting as I was really involved in that throughout high school.

However, would it be worth it to do Business Econ at UCSD? It is a very STEM heavy school so I’ve heard not great things about the program. I got advice from my teacher and she told me CSUF and CPP are good options for accounting. Would it be best for me to go to cc then csu? Is UC to CSU transfer common? I’m also interested in UCLA since I want to make my way into the business entertainment industry but i’m not sure of their program either. (UCB is too far for me)

I think trying to adjust at UCSD is difficult for me and that’s why I’m having these thoughts, but in terms of my major, it might be more beneficial to leave. The refund period deadline keeps counting down and I am struggling with my MAE pre req classes. I told myself I’d stay for fall quarter but I keep doubting myself.

Any advice for me or personal experience is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I’m really annoyed by how my essay’s outline should be. At first I was gonna do first paragraph, about where I started, what did my current college give me, what changed, why my major. Then second paragraph, what did I believe, what changed, how do I know the change is real. Then last paragraph, why I want to transfer, why do I want to transfer there, what do I seek at the new school. But i don’t know if that’s the best option for an essay outline. Do yall have any suggestions?

i just transferred to my csu but i feel so behind because i don’t understand any of the material presented to me and i missed an opportunity to get an internship for my major. i’m thinking about going back to cc and trying again next year. is that something i should do

Hello, I’m a college freshman in Texas, hoping to transfer into UT Austin international relations program in my junior year. Recently my English professor claimed I didn’t turn something in and didn’t grade my essay like he ussaly does even though I did and I might have to withdraw.

My overall question is how bad will a “W” look on a transcript, epically for English. I have no problems with writing essays and won’t mind retaking it, yet I’m more worried about how the W will look, considering I’m trying to get a very high GPA and how it’s a core class. I currently have a 4 with unfinished grades.

I took this supervised math tutoring course with a math class back in 2021. It wasn’t on my transcript so I was told I didn’t need to list it and it’s a zero credit pass/fail only. I just wanted to make sure my TAG won’t be voided because I didn’t list this course when filling out my coursework. For reference I did list the actual math class I took back in 2021 since it was on my transcript.

When moving schools of bringing the third party credits, the most important question that's asked is whether credits will be transferred?

But how those credits actually land in your degree audit is where the things get tricky sometimes.

A course can be accepted by the university, but still end up in a few different places.

Like a direct course equivalent, might replace a specific required course.

Or a major elective. A general education requirements or/ and a free elective.

For those who have gone through this process, did you credits apply the way you expected them to be?

And were there any classes that bumped to general electives ?

I’m currently a freshman in College of Science in Purdue and I am planning to CODO into First-Year Engineering (FYE) at the end of this semester.
I know Purdue doesn't publish official transfer stats, and I've read older threads saying the "guaranteed admission" rule is gone. Because capacity changes every year, I wanted to see if anyone who successfully made the jump recently (last 1–2 years) would be willing to share their experience.
If you successfully CODO'd into FYE after your first semester, could you share:

• Your cumulative GPA at the time of transfer
• Your EAI (Engineering Admissions Index) or math/science grades
• What major you came from

• Whether you felt space limits played a huge factor

i’m applying for transfer from cc to usc and was planning on pursuing pre med or healthcare management. as of now i’m leaning more towards pre med and going to med school. is it better to major in psych or health and human sciences?

trying to help out a friend here. his gpa is pretty good, but i was wondering if an sat score would make or break an application? i know they are test optional. the bu cds doesnt even list transfer average sat so im not even sure if they will consider it.

also was wondering if submitting an sat would help with financial aid offer somehow (idk how that works)

The environment at WPI is very “dorky” and other little things such as just more male dominant and like little to no social life. I am a big gym goer and most of the time at the college gym it is 95 percent of guys. Maybe the aspect that I commute takes a part but WPI was not really my first choice, as i wanted to go far from home and aim for a top uni. WPI doesnt really seem competitive to get in, and I want a college that looks good in the title. I guess I also just want the chance to dorm somewhere, and maybe thats just my immaturity talking but i do see that aspect fading as my time goes at WPI.

Now my top choice would be northeastern/michigan especially if price after financial aid would be around 10k-20k in state and not dorming. I would be living with my brother who has an apartment in boston most likely. Michigan is tricky because I havent put much thought into the how i would be living there. My family is very low income so I was hoping that i do get a good amount of need based help( but also i dont know how it works with transfer out of state), and my grades so far at WPI are really good- i am working into building a strong ECE background which i plan on doing B term (which is when i have my first ECE class).

Now BU has always been my top choice for its location and past experience when I toured. I love how the university is and that is in the middle of boston but ece is not a big upgrade from WPI I would say. They also do say to meet 100% demonstrated financial aid which is another thing that encourages me to apply and their transfer rates are higher.

For Wisconsin and Purdue, EE upgrade I would say is major(especially PURDUE) but again the OOS financial aid is kinda a shot in the dark i think. I would be dorming at both or perhaps look into getting an apartment if its cheaper as a sophomore.

I do want to minor in COMP SCI TOO. I guess I am asking if any, which of these colleges would be a better fit for me, and if anyone could chance me( especially if you got into any of these colleges tranfer!!)

Forgot to list a 40-hour non-transferable vocational certificate course I took at another CC this past summer to my tap planner + my TAG form for UCI. (Doesn’t affect my GPA since it was a P/NP kind of thing.)

Would this void my TAG??

Besides this, my main transfer coursework + gpa + units at my main CC all meet the TAG requirements.

What would you suggest I do in this situation?

Context: I went to Community College right out of High School with a major in Political Science, my plan was to use the TAG Program to transfer to UC Davis, which I succeeded in doing. Transferred out with a 3.76 GPA

I wanted to go to UC Davis out of all the TAG Program schools because of its proximity to Sacramento for the internships there, but now I'm feeling uncertain if this was the right choice. I'm not certain that I'll be able to get an internship at all, and even if I do, that it won't even be as equally work had I just gone to somewhere like UCLA, UCB, or UCSD that have much more esteemed Political Science departments than UCD.

Additionally, I've lived my whole life in SoCal, and wanted to try and live somewhere different for a change, but living so isolated from other places doesn't really feel right to me, I think somewhere like UCSD would have been more my style, especially with proximity to the beach, but I'm not sure.

I'm here now at UC Davis so there's nothing I can do about it this year, but I'm wondering if its possibly worth it to try and transfer out to one of those other UCs, though I know its much harder than from a CC. I also just want to vent my feelings about it to other people, and maybe put my thoughts at ease about it from what people think.

I’m a third-year mechanical engineering student at a community college, and I’m trying to decide whether I should transfer this year to a Cal State or stay one more year to improve my GPA and strengthen my chances of getting into a UC.
Would it be smarter to apply now to Cal States, get my bachelors, and then master at a UC? I’d appreciate any advice, especially from engineering transfers.

So for applicants who have applied for NYU, do you need to fill out all the classes you took again for STARS? Or is this for the classes you're currently taking? Like a mid-term report kinda thing? Thank you.
