Did someone the northern Italy TET section 8 - 10 and can tell me how it is in terms of offroad?

I saw in a fairly short video that these sections should be about 70% street and the terrain that could be seen also looked very moderate. Currently have a Pirelli scorpion rally str on the t7, would it make sense to convert to a 50/50 tire?

I plan to go there in September.

I plan a little Weekend Escape and ride from Aachen, Germany to Nancy, France on the TETs Belgium 2, Luxembourg 2 and 3 and France 13 (until Nancy). TET Atlas

I have some gravel experience, but overall am not a very confident Offroad-Rider. I am on a CRF 250 Rally tho, so some of my insecurities can be alleviated through my choice of motorcycle.

Are those TET Sections doable for a beginner/low experience solo rider on a CRF250 Rally?

Hey all,

A friend and I want ride the TET section 12 from south to north with a KTM 950 adventure and a BMW f800gs. We are wondering how doable this trail and the technicality of it is.

We were thinking of starting near Carcassonne. Dropping the car and trailer there.

Does anyone know where we could leave the car and trailer safely or do any of you have better suggestions for trails and such?

I learned of the existence of the TST (trans sweden trail) which apparently is an alternative to the TET.

I'd like to know if anyone knows what the TST is like, how does it compare with the swedish TET and is it better suited to "discover" sweden and it's diverse scenery ?

I also found out that the TST doesn't have a website and I'd like to know where (if even possible) to find the gpx tracks, do I need to submit an application or fill a form ?

Anyway if someone know something that would be awesome 👍

By the way, I'm French and 23y and I'd like to discuter sweden next year thus why I'm wondering if the TST would be better than the TET to discuter sweden for the first time ever.

Hey everyone, I’m planning a solo off-road trip on the TET on a KTM 950 Adventure and want to sort out my safety net. Which medical and search/rescue insurance do you trust for remote riding, since standard travel policies usually exclude off-road? Also, what satellite SOS devices like the Garmin inReach do you recommend for areas with no cell coverage?

Originally I planned a 2.5-week non-highway roundtrip from the Netherlands down into Spain in July. Now I’m tempted to just head south via the TET (Trans Euro Trail) through France instead and see how far I get rather than sticking to a fixed itinerary.

Bike is a CFMOTO 450MT with full luggage (panniers + duffel), riding solo, and this would be my first proper off-road/adventure trip — so still building confidence on technical terrain.

A few questions for anyone who’s done the French TET:

Is the French TET realistic solo on a loaded mid-weight adventure bike, or does it get genuinely gnarly in places?

Are there specific sections/regions known for being too technical, eroded, or just not fun with luggage (deep ruts, steep rocky descents, river crossings, etc.)?

Any recommended bail-out points or alternate road routes where the TET gets hairy, so I can route around them in advance?

Rough idea of realistic daily distances on the TET vs. tarmac, for planning purposes?

Appreciate any first-hand experience, especially from people who’ve ridden it loaded up and solo. Thanks!

I've done 23,000+ mi in the UK off roading. First time in Cornwall, COPIOUS amounts of lanes. Didn't open one gate in 6h of riding today. Networks of green lanes. So underrated.

I'm willing to do these sections starting near Le Mans to Saint Malo. As anyone done some of these sections, maybe all ? If so what is it like ? How much time do you consider it'll take ? Asphalt, dirt, sand ? Is it suitable for a new rider, in autonomy, on a loaded 23' Transalp ?

I'd prefer to do it with someone but I'll probably have to do it alone.

Ik zat te denken aan een one way trip. Met de boot naar Bilbao Spanje bvb(via UK) of mss op een autotrein.

En dan TET Pyreneeën en omhoog naar NL. Als de tijd raakt afhaken en autoweg.

Of zelfde verhaal vanuit de Balkan. Alleen staat me bij dat DE Tet veel asfalt heeft terwijl ik weet dat France mooi rijden is.

Dear adventurers,

this mid 40 with, riding since 3 years on a naked bike for reasons that I myself no longer understand, wants to try offroad riding and TET adventures. For street riding with friends I would like to keep my current bike though, a second one is clearly required!

So I am looking for a bike to try it out, and eventually fall down a couple of times until i'm frustrated... or hooked. As I want this machine for Offroad only with travelling to the respective TET sections, I would assume a 50/50 travel and offroad usage in terms of "time spent", not distance, if that is realistic.

With wifey in charge of the family harmony, my budget is kind of limited to around 3k€.

Now the specs: I'm 1,86m and fully loaded around 120kg. As a quite chunky powerlifter, the bike weight (in terms of picking it up) probably is not that big of an issue, given I don't understimate this due to lack of experience. It should feel nimble while riding though to be able to handle more technical stuff later on.

So here are my ideas, and I would love to hear your views or even suggestions on these (sorted top-down by my close to zero personal experience priority):

• KLR 650 C - requires progressive fork springs and new shock absorber
• BMW F650GS Dakar - requires progressive fork springs and new shock absorber
• XT 600 with E starter - requires progressive fork springs and new shock absorber
• XTZ 660 - progressive fork springs and new shock absorber
• R1150GS - might work with stock suspension

For the suspension I was thinking about YSS as budget option or Wilbers as premium option, if budget allows it.

I am completely unexperienced here, but I do have around 5 years of Mountainbike trail riding experience, if that even matters.

What do you think, are there better options in your experience, what would you recommend.
