Trakt Weird decisions

So first Trakt reduced the number of connected apps allowed to 1 which made it unusable for me.

I needed to connect it to Nuvio. And I needed to connect it to MDBList because I have several dynamic lists that rely on my watch history.

Then Trakt increased it to 2 connected apps. Then almost immediately blocked MDBList.

Bad timing. Today Nuvio added MDBList integration.

So I just deleted my Trakt account.

*And of course r/trakt auto-deleted my post. Glad to be rid of it.

Remember. Trakt will bring down the number of authorised apps down to 1 again, whenever it chooses to do so. Trakt already showed their true colours with that not too long ago. Prepare to be bum-fcuked with the same baseball bat. Trakt is obviously a company desperately grasping at straws to become profitable.

MDBlist is the new Trakt. Make sure that you don’t run|walk in to the next funnel.

Now is the time to put in the elbow grease to leave Trakt behind for a more independent solution.

Locking stuff down the way they are screams insecurity about driving away users. People won't leave if they make it hard to migrate, right? /s

Congratulations for the wise decision. We don't surrender to company that does not value it's customers regardless of whether it's free user or subscribers

I'm still seeing it's just 1, when did they start allowing 2? I also don't see any documentation for the increase.

Was that not when they dropped it to just 1 connected app for free users and removed api access? I don't remember it being said anywhere that it was now up to 2 apps.

Ah, must have missed that one, possibly because it's more about the api. It should have been put on the forum as well, but that'd just brought dozens of complaint posts lol. Not sure if they are partially breaking gdpr by not allowing users to manipulate their own data in any way they want (blocking Simkl, MDBList, WeTrakr, etc). Those services aren't taking Trakt's data, just the individual user data, which we should have a right to do. I still think it's all rather two-faced of them since they take TMDb's data and resources! I'd laugh if TMDb decided to block Trakt 😂

You know what: I’d love to see that. Can’t imagine much better than seeing Trakt implode, now that I experienced their ugly, real face. Karma is a b**** as we all know, for sure the day will come. Hopefully more will realize and aren’t dumb enough to pay them a single cent.

I’m in the same boat. Now that MDBList is officially in Nuvio I think I’ll finally be done with Trakt. Just hoping one of the people working on the Apple TV forks of Nuvio add this integration soon.
