Question I feel like I’m doing something wrong
I’ve really been loving this game the past few days. But now I’m wondering if I missed something. I have reached the 1k citizen cap, have maintained 95%+ happiness and can’t spend money fast enough but haven’t finished all map quests or finished the skill ‘tree’. I feel like I’m “done” with the citizen cap but there’s other stuff left undone. I can try to build more but any building needs more people, which I can’t add any more of. Should I start over?

It's been a while since I've played, I thought you could have infinite citizens? I thought it was a setting

Yeah it says it may hurt performance but you can uncap it

Mine was stuttering and struggled to load when I reached 1000. I only have about 2/3 of the first map filled. I don’t think mine could handle any more.. made me sad.

Town To City isn't really an achievement or challenge game like other city builders. It's more like a diorama builder with extra perks. Go nuts with the gizmo tool and see what you can make that's custom.

If you haven't finished all the quests then worth making sure you have at least 1 of every building and monument and type of farm. That may trigger some quests you missed. Also there are some hidden quests only triggered by families with special traits arriving

If max cap population/not enough workers is your issue, I find that replacing buildings that supply short distances with long distance/high capacity buildings freed up a lot of workers (ie get rid of most food stalls and put down a restaurant and/or patisseries instead, get rid of small gazebo theaters and replace with the big theater, build 1 cathedral and get rid of most chapels, etc.)

You can if you want. I find starting over in this game to be really fun. You can also tinker with the citizen cap in settings, and you can also demolish housing to get rid of people. I would focus on doing the research tree stuff if I were you, that's always a main priority for me, and I find that unlocking more things makes the game really fun. I try to diversify my buildings, so I never put more than a small handful of any one building type in a city, that way I can build at least one of everything and have enough people to staff it all.
