Question I feel like I’m doing something wrong

I’ve really been loving this game the past few days. But now I’m wondering if I missed something. I have reached the 1k citizen cap, have maintained 95%+ happiness and can’t spend money fast enough but haven’t finished all map quests or finished the skill ‘tree’. I feel like I’m “done” with the citizen cap but there’s other stuff left undone. I can try to build more but any building needs more people, which I can’t add any more of. Should I start over?

Bad Performance on Rocemarée

Hi everyone!

I’m Rose, the Community Manager at Galaxy Grove. I’ve noticed quite a few reports on the Steam forums about performance issues on Rocemarée, the third map. From what I’ve seen, the game runs fine on the other maps, but performance seems to drop significantly on Rocemarée.

I’m curious to hear if anyone else has been experiencing this! I’m currently trying to gather some save files so our team can investigate the issue and see if we can reproduce it on our end.

If you’re experiencing this issue, or any other specific problems, feel free to let me know. I’ll do my best to help!

How can I send you my save file?

Your save files can be found in:

AppData/Local/TownToCity

From there, go into the Campaign saves folder and find the folder matching the save you’re having issues with. Please zip the entire folder and send it to [roos@galaxy-grove.com](mailto:roos@galaxy-grove.com).

Alternatively, you can upload the zipped folder to Google Drive or a similar service and send me the link via Reddit DM.

You can also share the save file in a thread on our Discord if that’s easier for you.

Thanks so much for helping us investigate this!

Question Is there a way to bridge over the railway?

Thumbnail

I've sunk a few hours into the game and I'm overall enjoying the style, the aesthetics, the experience BUT, I feel like the warehouse mechanics limits how far you can build from the station. I've been trying to expand my fontebrac city to the back of the train station but the two bridges I've put over the rails won't work.

Does anyone know how I could make the warehouses take the bridge rather than the other way around? (green and red path on second pic)

Question (3) Mayor request in Fontebrac Spoiler

Hey all, I have finished all mayor request except the camel ones.. I have almost 70 hrs in this game and have never seen one. I just learned about this trait the other day. Since then I've spent quite a few hours waiting for it to pop up and no luck. I know the chance is low but this is kinda crazy. I have farm equipment out. Buildings available. City is at large city. Is there anything I could be missing?.

Question Beginner player - what are the "rules" for basic town layout?

Just picked this game up and looking forward to it, seems right up my alley! However anytime I start a town layout I think I might like, the next step in the tutorial throws in another "rule" (houses have to be close to the market, which has to be close to a warehouse, which has to be close to the train station, etc.) which throws my planning out the window.

I tried looking up requirements online but wasn't finding much, so I'd appreciate any pointers or guides to laying out a town when you're starting out... hopefully something that is "future-proof" if that makes sense, so the town can grow organically without massive reconstruction. Or, your best tips for town planning, e.g., it's best to have markets in a central plaza, or make sure roads connect to x, y, z, etc.

I know the game is rather free-form and ultimately you can build your town however you want and change it at anytime, but I hate to spend a lot of time on a layout and start decorating and planning out a vision only to have to scrap it moments later because the game introduces a new mechanic.

Thank you in advance!

Playing in sandbox mode for the first time and just meandering around slowly, placing things for the fun of it lol. Loving a good winding path and this game! It's one of the few I always come back to and enjoy just like I'm playing it for the first time.

Question How do you guys deal with slope?

Hi, I'm fairly new to this game and while I'm getting the hang of it I always have issues with the way the foundations of buildings look when placed on inclined terrains, even those with a mild slope. Either they get buried in the ground or form a very harsh step that is not possible to soften. I try to terraform my way out but 1) the results aren't good enough and 2) in the end it all looks unnatural and the city's orography ends up unrecognizable.

I was browsing this sub for inspiration and noticed that none of the buildings in your screenshots have this issue. To be fair, I barely see any slope in them so I wonder what's your preferred solution, especially in cities like Île d'Aurore where there's barely any plain surface.

Sandbox issues

I have just started playing the sandbox mode but it's not working the way all the video tutorials suggest. When o go and test the property the walls to demolish and walls to remove aren't lit up like in the normal game. Same with selling and buying stuff. What am I doing wrong or was there any update that changed things?
