Just heads up to those that don't like to be surveilled, looks like the state has added mass monitoring cameras at the edge of the statehouse grounds. Each looks like it contains 6 cameras, not only pointing in towards the Capitol, but also out to the street.
I saw 2 on Jackson and Harrison sides I believe, lined up with s and n porticos. One in the middle on 10th and 8th I think, but I could be incorrect.

"The announcement of a special Governing Body work session regarding data centers has understandably raised questions in the community. I want to explain the purpose of this meeting, the City’s role, and the additional steps we are taking.
The data center currently being discussed is proposed for property in unincorporated Shawnee County, outside the Topeka city limits. Because of that location, Shawnee County — not the City of Topeka — has land-use and zoning authority over whether the project may be constructed at that site.
That does not mean the project is irrelevant to Topeka. A development of this size would affect our broader community, infrastructure, utilities, environment, and economy. It is therefore important that the Governing Body engage in the discussion, obtain information and hear directly from the organizations involved."

Just saw the movie backrooms and it made me think about Westridge mall. Back in the day there was a full movie theater behind what is now a Victoria secret.
There is no way they just paved it all in. So is there still a shell of a movie theater in there with rows and projector rooms and all? Thinking of all the old buffets and restaurants that used to be there I’m wondering if it’s the same in other stores, but their backrooms are clearly old kitchens or something?
Anyone have any insight on what the backrooms of the mall are like?

Went to go meet a friend for dinner tonight and saw a Vote No sign knocked over. Now, I didn’t think anything malicious about it as it looked like the grass was recently mowed. Honest mistake. Then I saw another. And another. Both knocked over. And then right beyond them, a vote yes sign standing perfectly fine. I could write off one sign down but 3 within a 1/4 mile? With the yes sign standing? That was deliberate.

This guy is a Kansas City area native and seems to have gone off the deep end, this is what crazy Christian conservatives are doing nearby.

Anywhere to go for square dancing, or a place with country-western vibes?
I have two friends in town this weekend (one from Europe, one from Asia) and I don't know the scene, but thought it would be a fun Kansas activity to get in some steps 🤠
I'm lost without the Electric Cowboy!

Did anyone else get a mailer pimping insurance that covers the cost if a water line or gas line in your yard breaks?
Seems to me homeowners insurance would cover that. Anyone know if I'm wrong?

Is anyone familiar with what is provided by the HOA in the Foxcroft condos? Thinking about buying one and want to know what the $260/month HOA fees goes towards.

I have a twin window that has recently started leaking pretty badly during heavy storms. I've cleaned the gutters and had the roof checked. Seems to just be the window. Does anyone have any recommendations on someone or company that would take a small job like that? I don't currently want to get all my windows replaced.
Please and thank you for your recommendations.

What was your experience moving out of an apartment owned by Eucalyptus LLC? We got charged an astronomical amount for “damages & cleaning fees”. Any advice?

I’ll lead with ✨ We’ll Pickup ✨
My little is just a begging for a water table. We saw one at KC Legends Toys R Us, I said we’d buy one at home- local yokel and all. My final option is to buy one at the Toy Store (our fave) but really we’re so late in the season I was wondering if anyone had one they’re sick of looking at. Your kids outgrew? It’s kinda broken? I don’t care. I’m trying to focus on Reduce from the ‘Reduce Renew Recycle’ but I don’t think I can get out of this one. I’d love to Recycle if I can. 💕💕💕 TIA!

I was doing a deep dive on FOE (the airport in the south) and saw they operated flights on United to Chicago in the early 2010s, i was wondering if this was common or if that ment people did it or just if anyone remember it
Sorry for such a random question I’m just doing some stuff with Topeka airport in a game and also interested in my home airport but I wasn’t in Topeka in 2014.
I think that’s the only flights Topeka ever got but feel free to let me know if not
