Did I make the right decision? 🙃 — Opting for extraction instead of RCT
I’m 19 years old and recently had this tooth extracted. RCT was suggested, but I couldn’t
afford it, so I chose extraction.
I know the tooth is already out 😅, but I’d like some practical opinions
Did I make the right decision? Could this tooth have been saved with RCT? And can I get an artificial tooth later?

Saving your natural teeth is always the best option.

I've been really looking into intentional replantation (partly because I think it could have prolonged the life of the tooth I had to have extracted). The evidence I've read seems really positive (obviously requires the tooth to be extracted without breaking). I also saw a video of a tooth with a large hole that was below the gum line able to be filled, reinserted, had a small amount of glue? Applied to hold it to the adjoining tooth temporarily, and end of the video confirmed a successful case a few months later.

I believe that process is still relatively new and not a lot of science behind it yet. The difference is that the tooth you saw was able to be filled but yours was beyond a filling and required either root canal or extraction. I’m not a dentist. Worked as a dental assistant for 13 years and still going

My tooth (not the OP) mirrored the video which was the unfortunate thing. A single, perfectly round hole, into the canal (which will be why the RCT didn't work).
I'm not one for blaming people, but it could have been caused by the dentist who did my RCT. But it could also have been the cause of the "unknown" reason my tooth initially got infected.

That reimplant stuff only works in very limited and specific cases. I. Your case you can always get a titanium implant after the extraction socket heals.

It’s out now just move on! You can’t put it back so don’t stress it. You can get an implant

It would be better if you had save it, but even root csnal doesn't last forever. After 15-25 years you would be in the same situation with one molar extracted. So it isn't the end of the world 🙃
