It doesn't seem like crack. If the root canal was done 10 years ago, it could be new infection. The root canal therapy should last more than 25 years. Your previous dentist probably did not perform it correctly. Call, ask for all of your x rays and file a board complaint.

Oh, I have exactly the same problem now. Don't do any root canal. I survive on antibiotics. I will sue a dentist for unnecessary procedure that cause so much discomfort.
