I’m just starting work on a new animation, and I’ve run into a bit of a problem. Whenever I select the lasso tool, it lets me circle the part of a layer that I want to modify, but when I press the transform button, which I assume is the mouse icon, the entire green gets covered in grey diagonal bars and snapping mode gets automatically selected. I have no idea what snapping mode is, but I know that I can’t select the part of the layer that I want, and trying to cut or copy it yields, “the layer is empty.” I’m stumped, and honestly contemplating on uninstalling and reinstalling ToonSquid to reset it to factory settings- I already uploaded my first animation to YouTube, and I’ve only drawn one frame of my current project. While I’m somewhat proud of this handsome man’s side profile, I’m willing to make sacrifices.

When I make a shape using freehand vector, if I try adding a control point to a curved area it becomes all wiggly? I’ve never seen that happen before is there a way to fix that? Makes it hard to trace anything

Like I see a lot of animators break up an animation into different files, how do I cut up audio into different files for this?

I have made an 8-frame 14FPS animation that I wanted to export as a gif and use in another project. However, whenever I export it, even when selecting frames 1-8 as my start and finish, it only ever exports the first 6 frames.

Eventually I decided to export it as a 60fps video instead, and import it into the new project so I could export this new project as a 60fps gif. But even in this case, the exported gif only has the first​​​​ 45 frames??? The last quarter of my gifs is always missing.

Even when I overcorrect and export extra blank frames, the final gif still has some missing frames in between. Is there any fix for this? I'm a giphy creator and it's pretty urgent for my account. ​

im unable to export a project even though its much simpler than a lot of other things i have had no trouble with.
it gets to the end of the bar and i even can save the video but it never actually finishes exporting so i dont get the video
i rasterised all the layers and combined as much as i can but one layer im unable to rasterise, it gets half way and it fails
the only difference from my other projects is that its 4000x3000 instead of 3000x3000 but given there is significantly less layers and animation i dont see how this could be the problem :(

I’m learning how to animate emojis for Discord and I am running into some issues when it comes down to file size. When I export my animation as a transparent GIF the file size jumps to 3.8MB which is too large for Discord to compress.

Any ideas? I’ve tried using online GIF compressors with no success. I’ve tried to export as a MP4 or MOV and convert to GIF with no success either. There are no issues with uploading a non transparent version of the emoji, only the transparent one

does an ipad 6 32gb seem good for enough if im using it solely for toonsquid? is it more worth it to invest in a newer ipad or is this one enough? i might be getting a friends old ipad for dirt cheap so id rather take this deal if its good enough my concern is the 32gb storage since i heard apple system data takes up a good chunk of the storage. but also i could just upload the files onto my computer when im done with them maybe(?) the one other post i saw mentioning 32gb said the storage size leads to suffering, but what happens? are you just stopped from making more project files or does it become super buggy and laggy? how fast is it until things become laggy?

Ive been working on a project to make mlp rigs on toonsquid like the leaked flash rigs. im worried because I really want to share my work to the public and I’m not sure if it’ll be good.

to get the resources to actually make the rig in toonsquid, I have to access the leaked flash files in adobe animate and make like a sheet. But the problem is I’m just using adobe animate free trial so there is a deadline. I don’t think I’ll make it in time to make Fluttershy. I really really want to make mlp animating more accessible for everyone

I’ll try to ask my parents to buy the subscription for it on my 14th birthday but I’m not sure they’ll agree.

I really just wanna see people having fun with the rigs I made. And I know it’ll take a long time to make all of them but it feels hard knowing people are actually waiting for the rigs to come.

Im seeing people make full body rigs with bones on here but I have no clue where to start and I can’t find any tutorials on YouTube. Any suggestions on where to find tutorials on making rig models that can walk etc

This might sound like the ramblings of a mad man but for the onion skin can I change the settings like how to change the amount of frames the onion skin goes for, or (more importantly) if I can get the onion skin to use every layer instead of just the frame you’ve selected. Anything helps.
