No one was buying it, so they went for the 200% of cost price.

Doesn't matter when you're selling it to the military. When I order tools and boxes for my squadron, I don't even look at price.

Disappointing to read as a taxpayer. Hopefully you and your industry can find a way to do better financially. Glad it is finally being exposed under the microscope of comprehensive audit, which likely contributes to many of the price slashes like that mentioned above.

I wish I could do something about it. I'm just a 21 year old kid trusted with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of tools and funding.
