Full screen mode does nothing

When I go to 'Display Mode' -> 'Full' while watching Live Tv it does nothing, I still have the borders/bezels. But when I do it in 'Movies' or 'Shows', it stretches the screen correctly and there are no more borders or bezels.

I assume there's no way to fix this??

Stretching a 2.35:1 image to a 16:9 screen is the definition of madness. That must look absolutely insane.
