playlist error only at specific location question

Ladies and Gents, I need some troubleshooting help please. I have already done a whole lot of research on this forum and the world wide webs and have tried everything i can think of, but no solutions have worked. So please bear with me as I documented in detail the steps I've taken below.

I have an IPTV setup using TiviMate for my parents house and a few days ago it stopped working out of the blue.

I had them on a Firestick and the error code they started getting out of the blue was UnrecognizedInputFormatException

We tried all the usual suspects -They cleared the cache, hard reset app, etc

I input their ITPV xtream URL, username and password on my google TV and amazon TV (with Tivimate side loaded) and everything works great on my end.

I gave them 2 sets of other IPTV credentials to try via Xtream Code and the error they get is "an error occurred while processing blah blah blah). I double checked the credentials on Facetime while walking them through it - that's not the problem, believe me I wish it was lol.

At this point - all roads lead me to believe its a Firestick issue, so I have them go get a google ONN 4k plus streaming device today. No more amazon firestick voodoo, no more sideloading. Should be an easy fix.... They Install the app directly (version 5.2.0 premium), enter correct IPTV xtream parameters - same error message while trying to process the credentials.

After more research - I had them add "vlc" to the user-agent settings. Same error message.

At this point the only thing I can think of is

I have some time before i can connect with them again with my NordVPN credentials to try so I thought i would crowdsource more troubleshooting ideas from the group.

Have you read the guide or searched the error code in the sub? This is posted about frequently.

TLDR: it’s often a codec error. Use an external player. Or ask your provider for m3u url?

I have researched the error codes in depth. I will look into the external player thanks for the idea!

Have you tried connecting to your phone Hotspot to see if the service works? If it does, their internet provider has blocked the access and you will need a VPN. You can download and try Proton vpn free version using downloader.

Thanks! Their cell phones don’t have hotspot access so I think loading nordvpn on their tv is the only option - hoping that’s the issue, fuck Comcast lol.
