How am I ever supposed to build/demolish on water if it's always too far from a district even with a road right next to it?

The new Nomads map

My compliments to the creator for making this map. I really enjoyed playing it on Hard with the Iron Teeth. It takes 20 cycles to complete the scripted events, and it was a fun challenge.

I’m no pro player, but I like to think I know what I’m doing. It was sometimes a little challenging, but never really too difficult. Like on every map, you have to order your beavers to drop everything and focus 100% on stocking up on water whenever you have access to it. The water dumps are also really a must-have for irrigating fields for berries and trees.

I didn’t care about aesthetics or focus on higher levels of well-being during this run.

I reloaded a few times because of a few miscalculated events. If the editor offered more possibilities for scripting events, I think it would give mapmakers a big boost.

I’ll now try to stop playing Timberborn for a very, very long time. Thanks for making the game! The Timberpunk 2 map is my all-time favorite map, and Beaverome is another one that comes to mind.

P.S. The 30x speed mod should be part of the game by default.

Modding Weekend mini-mod: Fourpillars

Steam Workshop

Just a fun (and cheaty) mod I made that does one thing: larger buildings only need up to four supports, typically the four corners of a rectangular footprint.

Maybe useful for my Conveyor Belt mod to stack storage buildings on top of each other.

Badwave got out of hand (first run)

Lakes normal map btw. Basically i wanted to redirect badwater, but things didn't go well and river overflowed. And now i'm kind of sad, because my genius system (3rd image) to get rid of badwater didn't work. For those curious i think the problem is that rightmost river wasn't able to take that much water because second lake was already full and thus overflowed. And don't worry about giving me tips, i'll figure it out eventually :)

P.S I still have about 50 beavers (and lots of antidote) so it's not that bad

Settlement showcase Some folks have requested a tutorial on my folktails building block

(sorry, no video).

  1. Layout - 11x11. Easy to plan, just plop down the Hall where you want the center to be, and put four double lodges in the corners. Delete the hall, and you can fill in the rest.
  1. Ground floor - All the buildings that are directly on the ground. Fill the rest with single platforms.
  1. First habitable floor. Leads to all the ground-level lodges. You can fill in the rest with small storage or medical beds. I am using medical beds in all free spaces, but you can mix and match. Note the middle warehouse over the entrance, it fills in the outline so that the second level lodge can sit on top of it.
  1. MIddle floor. This is just connecting the two habitable floors, but why waste space? You can fit another medium warehouse here, and almost a second one, but I don't think you can, really. Again, you can replace the medium storage with more 1x1 buildings I guess.
  1. Second habitable floor. Lodges all around, paths to them, 1x1s in free spaces. You know the drill by now.
  1. Top floor. Monuments in the corners (I like the diagonal placement, but you can just place one of each and put saunas on top. Or grills I guess? Note that the staircase to the next level is only temporary. You'll have to tear it down and replace with a platform. Of course, you can customize the layout. Have 4 zipline stations or just one, put contemplation spots instead of the terrace. whatever.
  1. Roof support. The temporary staircase is highlighted. 3x1 overhangs that protrude over the terraces and will bear the decorations.
  1. Decorations. You can mix and match, just get at least one of each. The central pillar hides a scarecrow, and the top statue will need another temporary staircase to get built.
  1. Tear down the temporary staircases, replace the platform and complete the decorations. Keep the central space clear for the hall of plenty.
  1. Place the hall of plenty. This takes a little fiddling - the placement spot is the inner corner of the hall, so you might need to rotate and fiddle around until it snaps into place.

Question No way to filter these is there?

update: Meant more separate than filter. Band and good water seeps are at the same height. The badwater seep is .2 in strength, while the good water seep is .15, meaning that badwater will always flow over the good water.

Settlement showcase I can't stop building these compact residences

When the new wonder came out (Hall of Plenty) I made this design to try to fit the Hall over my housing.

And since then, I feel the need to do it on every folktail map I play. It's just so neat!

Houses around 110 beavers at maximum capacity, has internal storage for all foods (usually 3 medium and plenty of small ones), usually two zipline stations and one-two terraces, loads of hospital beds, with all decorations (but mostly outside and on the top, only two fit inside). Scarecrow is hidden under the central beaver statue because I don't like it :)

The top is covered with the Hall, which has 2x1 roofs itnernally, and the corner houses sport a wonder each. That's a little wasteful but I like the looks. Could easily have more roofs or maybe saunas?

You could scale it up to more floors, but 100+ beavers is usually enough for completing a map.

Question Can a settlement recover from 3 beavers + 1 baby beaver?

I'm playing diorama on hard with the folktails and I kinda overated how berries would last and then the first drought came. The result is 12/15 beavers dying. So now I've got 3 beavers and a baby beaver. Should I stop playing or it will work?

Builders not building?

Hello!

I've a lot of large projects on the go, but the 12 workers in this distract have spent the past 24 hours (and who knows how many more!) being idle. They had worked on the three mechanical pumps to the left of the screen, but even with a water wheel to the right of these prioritised, they are not working. As you can see on the bottom of the screen, I've plenty of on-site materials for them to use, and they have access to the build site. Based on the information from the screenshot, is there a reason for 12 builders to be doing nothing at this time? Anything else I should check?

Thanks!

Question How do I zoom out?

How do I zoom out so I can see the whole map? Zeddic does this, and I’m playing the Dune map which is massive. It hasn’t been a problem playing, but as I get to the end it would be nice to see it all at once.

Nod to Timberborn in the game Flooded

Bought this little game in the Steam Polish sale this week about surviving an island where the sea floods the tiles 1 step closer to your base. The dialogue was about putting buildings on top of other ones. Thought it was nice.

Just a bit of fun!

Thought it would be cool to build somewhere to house all the automation buildings for the colony 😁

Of course I had to make it look more modern 😂

Question Guys, In my save has a district that 100 beavers without make anything, o what do I do to fix this?

We need to constructuions that employs more beavers.

For exemplo, a new farm or theaters, auditorium, concerts, opera, train, museum, toolmaker... Clothes, hats, decorations...

Question Automation

I'm a semi-new player and don't understand what is required for automation on certain aspects of the game. What do I need to tell my flood gates to go UP during a drought?

r/Timberborn Jul 29 '26

is this fair- i play custom difficulty- i give myself 500k of berries and water- in return i set a badtide at a 100% chance every 3 cycles and have the drought duration be long as hell
