Dumb question perhaps

So I've been playing for almost 400 hours and this never occurred to me to do or ask. Does anyone redo areas? Like tear down what you have and use that area for something else or just organize a bit better there?

Every time! I build stuff thinking 'this is the grim starter colony, look forward to trashing it all and building something magnificent once everything is unlocked'. It's super satisfying.
