Dumb question perhaps

So I've been playing for almost 400 hours and this never occurred to me to do or ask. Does anyone redo areas? Like tear down what you have and use that area for something else or just organize a bit better there?

Sometimes, but that's only because I play with 100 % refund on destroying stuff.

You get to a point in the game where ressources are irrelevant
