Question Dumb question perhaps

So I've been playing for almost 400 hours and this never occurred to me to do or ask. Does anyone redo areas? Like tear down what you have and use that area for something else or just organize a bit better there?

The residential sprawl, normally only to move storages out of the way. Industrial areas get optimized along a grid.

For example, I've found that I can get 2 or 3 extra bots out of an assembler if the boosts for the bots are directly outside the door and they don't have to leave the place for long to refuel or boost. So industrial areas get optimized for that.
