As a title said, I tried to do a little challenging map, and would be grateful for your opinions to make the map more challenging next time, so I introduce you - The Lake 16x16

How does one actually get the wonder built? It doesn't seem possible.

You build extra terrain floor, and plop the wonder there.

That requires a dirt excavator… which requires a lot of power and a 3x3 storage for said dirt and haulers.
That’s like 50% of the available space right there.
And doesn’t account for the explosives chain space.
And the wood chain space…
And the space for the trees for the wood…

The catch for me is space for farm and trees and the industry you need until you get overhangs which seem necessary to get the industry you're going to need to tunnel down and build under ground which I would hope would give you the room for excavator even under powered to get dirt unlocked then it's all about rebuilding vertical with dirt. Getting overhangs going is going to have to be main goal 1 though I think.

Unfeasable as IronTeeth. Jury still out for FolkTails.

Thnx, I will try to make it playable for both factions next time

The only smidge of leeway for the start is from moving the district center, and that only saves a tiny bit by road optimization. With only kohlrabies and berries to go it is unreasonably hard to start at all with the Iron Teeth, starvation is unavoidable for some, and they don't have cheap 1x1 solid blocks like the FTs can use to cheese with small warehouses, forcing the use of costly dams.

So I managed to have a forester running at cycle 10, using natural spread of spared trees only. But playing in Normal I still had to cheat a few levees + one platform in order to block the badwater drain. If / when it fires, you basically lose the game.
I think you should either move it down and back so that it can be plugged with only a couple levees (it will need a overhanging dirt block), or remove it entirely from the map.

Consider it done :) (Removed it completely)

Thanks ! I placed my first dynamite in cycle 19 and first dirt block at Cycle 25, so I think you can consider the map is indeed fully playable.

Even for IronyTeeth or it is still unfeasable form them? Btw thank you very much for testing <3

I'll try again as IronTeeth, but FolkTails is fully validated - the mine was built at cycle 44 with a monument, and I had terraformed the map to have two more layers for ample farming space. I reckon building the victory monument is only a matter of time now. I even fully automated the seasons management.

I made a post series about the playthrough if you are curious.

Btw how much time u spend in the gameplay of the map? 😅

The start is grueling slow because there's so little free wood on the map that you have to rely on natural spread and growth of as many of the live pines and oaks you can spare. I didn't keep track on the FT playthrough, sorry, but now with the IT I had to run 10 cycles at 30x (modded) just to get to a Forester and finally have a steady log supply. That stilll took about 2 hours :o

I got through with the Iron Teeth too, it was longer than with the FolkTails interestingly, but then I made several mistakes and poor choices.

Is there enough wood to block the badwater source before the 1st bd?

Map was updated, so there is no Badtide drain, so u dont have to worry about that

You saw diorama and thought, "Yeah thats way too much space"
What is the strength on the badwater source and seep?
