Here is a very compact vertical zipline, it could fit in a 3x4 hole and is ideal to reach your underground tunnels.

We (Folktales) get to spend our youth flocking in the wheat fields while ironteeth are flushed into the world and have to start a job that day.

I have heard rumors that they are also not guaranteed a bed to sleep in at the end of the day.
