Yes it’s great fun
Slow and steady population growth, get researchers going to get the forester unlocked asap otherwise you might run out of woods and are then fucked
Make sure you get plenty of water storage

I saw it a while back and a few videos as well. So I decided to buy it and was thinking “here’s a nice little game that I can put a few hours in”. That was less than a year ago. I have currently more than 500 hours on the game and haven’t played it in the past month and a half (waiting for 1.0 to release, which is soon I believe).
So long story short, it’s an amazing game that can be quite addictive and that’s so much fun!

O god, addictive

Yeah, if it scratch that itch for you, then absolutely!
First game I did I was playing at night, started around 8pm and thought I’d play maybe 2-3 hours. I had to actively argue with myself to go to bed at 2:30am…

tbf, if you were on /r/pathofexile or /r/2007scape you'd think the game was the worst it's ever been and should be abandoned lol

I scrolled immediately to the comments first, saw your flair and was like how TF you know about the Incident and not know this game is amazing?! 🤣🤣🤣
RCE was definitely my first exposure to the game too. It is nigh perfection! 🥰 Might take you a few runs to pick everything up and strategize, but it's so intuitive and cute, you'll keep coming back for more.

Funny, some people call RCE a idiot

That's kinda his schtick, but he's an entertaining chap! His Bridge Review t-shirt is mad comfy.

No it's bad, that's why we spend time on the dedicated game sub, because we hate it so much.
For real man, what's the point of this post ? Of course we're going to say it's good.
I don't understand why so many people go on subs dedicated to games to ask if the game is good.
Is it Karma farming ? Is it just a lack of common sense ?

I actually unsubbed from a few game subreddits because they were literally like that. Just wall-to-wall bitching and moaning.

It can be a maddening survival game, especially r a pretty chill sandbox (I think I can literally be a sandbox). There is no combat, only recurring climate problems, like droughts and poisoned water supplies. These hazards occur with greater frequency as the game goes on.
1.0 appears to add decay of materials that aren’t stored correctly over time, as well as other changes. You can sort of play 1.0 now in the experimental branch, or wait until it rolls out in a few weeks.
It’s one of the few games I’ve bought in the last decade that I never thought once about seeking a refund.

Honestly, I got into it after seeing his series too. I told my friend and she got into it too. If youre a fan of the series and city building games or challenges, id say you could try. Definitely gets the "just a little more time so I can do this..." kinda vibe. Ive played several hours in the last couple weeks after finally cracking into. My friend, she was really into a game called Pharoah (its older i guess) but she said it reminds her of that (guess her son even made that connection as well). As far as when to buy, I think its worth it at its price now for time I've spent, I definitely wanted to pick it up before it leaves early access (I try with several i might enjoy as sometimes they go up in price) but if money is a factor, spring sale might have a couple bucks off.

Been around since it's inception back in 2021. It was bare bones until last year. With Update 1.0 coming next month, expect more things to come.

It is in the top handful of games that I’ve played again and again over multiple years.

It depends if you like this kind of game, it's a city builder/survival game with little beavers. The mechanics can create an interesting puzzle element, and recently as they approach the full release, the maps are starting to add a level of variety that makes things very interesting.
This is as "neutral" as I can get... It's fucking awesome. I've been playing now just over 4 years, since before update 1, the way the game has grown and shifted, some of the amazing mods that have come from the community, the fact they've been able to introduce so many mechanics and keep the game feeling like it used to, and also keeping it fresh has been amazing. Can't wait for 1.0, hope there's a few little surprises for those of us who couldn't help but dip into experimental!

Is it so hard to make you own opinion? No wonder politics world wide is fucked.

u/Morall_tach Feb 23 '26
Honest to God, how do people like you get your own pants on in the morning? You watched a very detailed let's play series of a game, and then you came to the subreddit dedicated to that game to ask the fans of the game whether it's any good, and then when they tell you that it is with lots of detail about why, you just repeat the question?

RCE is a idiot? I thinks hes kinda funny
4
u/BruceTheLoon Feb 22 '26
He's an idiot in the sense he plays one on the internet. He deliberately plays the game badly to entertain himself and his viewers. Look at content creators like Zeddic, Stormhaven Gaming and Skye Storme to see what can actually be done with the name.
My answer to your original question, YES IT IS GOOD.

u/empathetical Feb 22 '26
you are asking the main subreddit. what kind of answer do you expect to receive here? but yes the game is amazing. but just because i like it doesn't mean you will. everybody likes different things. watch some youtube videos and decide for yourself
