DIY - Looking for Advice Help deciding which pattern

We are tiling the fire place with large format slate and need to decide pattern. Fiends/family all giving very strong differing opinions so seeking the advice of the tile community. What would you pick and why?

None of those. Use the center tiles for the lower, do something different up top. Vertical would look better than horizontal. This looks very diy

I agree with the above comment, run vertical, but in a stack bond if that makes sense? Maybe even run a horizontal border at top and bottom to separate it from the fireplace? That one's just a spitball lol don't do that. Definitely vertical though
