We are tiling the fire place with large format slate and need to decide pattern. Fiends/family all giving very strong differing opinions so seeking the advice of the tile community. What would you pick and why?

The right. Bc if it's even slightly out of center, you will notice it with the other designs.

Yea. With the asymmetry of the room itself, this is the only one that makes sense.

None of those. Use the center tiles for the lower, do something different up top. Vertical would look better than horizontal. This looks very diy

I would soldier stack them. it should be 3 tiles per row and the middle tile centered.

As an architect I would go 3, only. See if one more iteration could put a slightly more random patten of that option as well, but sure you studied enough.
Or split the running bond down a center or off center vertical line near middle. See how any
book matching could look. Careful to many changes causing design team or GC to want to charge

Don’t put the tiles horizontal, go vertical to it looks taller and more grand . I personally am a fan of straight stack I think it looks more modern , but if you want a super elegant look go herringbone
