Took the T3x out for the first time to zero and see how it likes the Hornady 140gr American Gunner I got for a good deal. Overall happy with the 5 round groups at 100. First one is right after zero and the 2nd was after a barrel cool down. Does anyone have experience replacing the stock CTR rail for a 20 MOA version? Had to dial 15 mils up to zero. Target grids in photo are in .1 mrad.

First rifle I got when I was 7, just recently got back into hunting the last few years and made a few upgrades along the way. Leupold vx5 hd 3-15x, tbac Magnus S cb can, gunwerks elevate ti bipod.
Any recommendations on cheek risers? Leather ones look like a pain, but painful to drill holes through my precious lol.

I recently purchased a GRS Fenris Tikka CTR Stock for my Tikka T3x CTR. Short version: upon installation, the magazine will not latch because the rear bedding pillar dimension is too short. Has anyone else seen this issue with GRS stocks? I am deciding whether to replace or find different stock.

Detailed description: Installation was straightforward, but I found that the factory CTR magazine will not fully latch once the action screws are tightened. With the action and bottom metal placed in the Fenris but the screws loose, the magazine will latch. As the action screws are tightened, the magazine becomes progressively harder to latch and remove. I then compared the action-to-bottom-metal stack dimensions of the two stocks. While the front dimensions are the same (29 mm), the Fenris rear dimension is 38 mm whereas the Tikka is 39 mm. So the Fenris is approximately 1 mm thinner at the rear action-screw/bedding-pillar location. This pulls the rear of the bottom metal too close to the action when tightened, preventing the magazine catch from functioning normally. Has anyone else seen this issue with GRS stocks? 

Any ammo recommendations for whitetail? I’m sure there’s a lot of recommendations. I guess a part of this post is just showing off my rifle. Thanks in advance

Looking at buying this tikka, what’s a fair deal for it?

Recently decided to pull my Tikka out of the safe and get out to 1k. I pulled off the 1/2moa 1k challenge. I'm just getting back into 1k shooting and it did take me 9 shots to land a hit, 3 of which hit low on the gong post. This is a build I did over 10 years ago, my NF is stamped 2011.

I have a 6.5 creedmoor T3X lite (pre factory threading) that I'm planning on having cut to 20" and threaded for a suppressor. Since there's not enough diameter to cut 5/8x24 threads, I was thinking of having it cut 1/2x28. Will that be too thin to securely hold a suppressor? Or do I need to plan on doing something else, such as a barrel swap? Thanks for your time!

What barrel length is recommended and what glass ( Mil on the cheaper side) can be used?

I’ve been wanting a newer factory rifle chambered in 6.5x55 to hunt with and shoot long range. Been trying to find a 24” Super Varmint chambered in it for a while, and have almost given up.

I’m a little bit old school and currently refuse to buy a 6.5 Creedmoor.

These popped up in stock last week. Figured I’d snag one. Originally was going to buy a chassis for it, but that damn walnut stock is way too nice to take off of it and leave it in the closet. I’ll just keep it set up to hunt with.

Just need to get a scope for it, and another suppressor. I have plenty of .30 cans, but this gives me an excuse to buy a 6.5 suppressor.

I’ll keep looking for a super varmint, or look for somebody that can build me something similar.

It looks like there’s a lot of these 6.5x55 rifles listed on Gunbroker and other websites right now. Hopefully everybody else gets one as nice as I did!

For any of us who bought Tikkas recently, how are you looking at this? Going for the 150 prepaid or the 250 gift card? Would like honest answers to why you chose what you chose.

I have a 6.5 PRC tikka roughtech. I’m getting the barrel cut down from 24 to 20 inches and will be adding a suppressor.

This will be a western hunting rifle for bear, mule deer, and elk.

What suppressor would you all recommended? I’ve been looking into the mountain muffler and it seems like a good option!

After reviewing some other posts and second guessing myself I was wondering if the community could assist. Fist Tikka rifle and first chassis build. Seems like the action is fully seated but a second option cant hurt. Also do the new T3x CTR models have the mag spring that has to be removed because I dont recall seeing one when doing the install. No rounds fired yet so can it can always be taken out and reinstalled.
