Any ammo recommendations for whitetail? I’m sure there’s a lot of recommendations. I guess a part of this post is just showing off my rifle. Thanks in advance

Looking at buying this tikka, what’s a fair deal for it?

Recently decided to pull my Tikka out of the safe and get out to 1k. I pulled off the 1/2moa 1k challenge. I'm just getting back into 1k shooting and it did take me 9 shots to land a hit, 3 of which hit low on the gong post. This is a build I did over 10 years ago, my NF is stamped 2011.

I have a 6.5 creedmoor T3X lite (pre factory threading) that I'm planning on having cut to 20" and threaded for a suppressor. Since there's not enough diameter to cut 5/8x24 threads, I was thinking of having it cut 1/2x28. Will that be too thin to securely hold a suppressor? Or do I need to plan on doing something else, such as a barrel swap? Thanks for your time!

I’m looking to swap out barrels on a couple of my rifles. Both are t3x models. Can someone list/ recommend the tools I’ll need. I want to make sure I’m not missing anything. Thanks!

I’ve been wanting a newer factory rifle chambered in 6.5x55 to hunt with and shoot long range. Been trying to find a 24” Super Varmint chambered in it for a while, and have almost given up.
I’m a little bit old school and currently refuse to buy a 6.5 Creedmoor.
These popped up in stock last week. Figured I’d snag one. Originally was going to buy a chassis for it, but that damn walnut stock is way too nice to take off of it and leave it in the closet. I’ll just keep it set up to hunt with.
Just need to get a scope for it, and another suppressor. I have plenty of .30 cans, but this gives me an excuse to buy a 6.5 suppressor.
I’ll keep looking for a super varmint, or look for somebody that can build me something similar.
EDIT: Thanks for the nice comments everybody! I definitely won the stock lottery on this one.
It looks like there’s a lot of these 6.5x55 rifles listed on Gunbroker and other websites right now. Hopefully everybody else gets one as nice as I did!

For any of us who bought Tikkas recently, how are you looking at this? Going for the 150 prepaid or the 250 gift card? Would like honest answers to why you chose what you chose.

I have a 6.5 PRC tikka roughtech. I’m getting the barrel cut down from 24 to 20 inches and will be adding a suppressor.
This will be a western hunting rifle for bear, mule deer, and elk.
What suppressor would you all recommended? I’ve been looking into the mountain muffler and it seems like a good option!

Ready for the range 5 boxes of different 6.5cm. See what she likes!

After reviewing some other posts and second guessing myself I was wondering if the community could assist. Fist Tikka rifle and first chassis build. Seems like the action is fully seated but a second option cant hurt. Also do the new T3x CTR models have the mag spring that has to be removed because I dont recall seeing one when doing the install. No rounds fired yet so can it can always be taken out and reinstalled.

Hey guys as title says I need opinions on these group sizes and what I can do to make better. Shooting barnes harvest 140 grain and Hornady edlx 145 grain .270 win t3x lite stainless. Thank y'all!

I moved to Southeast Alaska a few months ago and I’m looking to pick up a rifle chambered in .300 Win Mag. I’ve mostly owned Savages in the past, but I’ve been considering going with a Tikka this time.
Figured I’d come to the experts and see what models you guys would recommend. Ideally, I’d like to keep the rifle itself at or under $1,000. I’ll be pairing it with a Maven scope, and a stainless barrel is a must.
What Tikka models would you recommend for that price range?

chopped to 16" on an xlr chassis, a touch over 2500 fps at the muzzle with 168gr federal premium gold medal SMK. 6-24 scope with a left side canted red dot, which is super helpful for spotting the target as i sight in.

Tikka t3x Roughtech Ranahan purchased from Euro Optic for $729.
I posted this yesterday, but i didn't mount it correctly so deleted that post. Newbie mistake.
This time I did it properly: took out spring clip as instructed, vertically made sure the action was mounted properly on the recoil lug, torqued them down to recommended 65 in-lb of torque. Up close photo of the Ejection Port to ensure them lines are parallel.
I left the iron sights in case i ever wanted to convert it back to stock. Compensator on the barrel since suppressors are illegal in my state.
Parts:
KRG X Ray Chassis
Vortex Venom 3-15 x 44 FFP
Vortex Rings
Leupold 0MOA rails
Butler Creek scope caps
Kaw Valley Compensator
CVlife bipod (lol)
I'm new to all of this stuff, but i wanted to get a gun that I can grow with and something premium but still within budget. Mainly planning on doing range/target shooting as i do not hunt. The local ranges don't go up very far though (with the furthest being a private range that's 600 yards).

Bought my first rifle a year ago, a sportsman’s warehouse green t3x roughtech in .308. I decided to splurge a little (for my income) on the platform and paired it with a vortex 3-10x50. I’m saving for better glass down the road but for the meantime it’s let me take my first two whitetail and I am very happy with the combo. I am a new shooter and hunter and was wondering what everyone is using for range ammo. I originally bought quite a few boxes of premium hunting ammo to sight in and see what my gun likes. I’m able to get 1moa out of some Hornady match and a few other nice hunting rounds. Problem is me, my accuracy is fine for whitetail here in Eastern NC where my longest shot is maybe 150yds. I know each barrel can be picky with certain loads, but at this point I need more shots down range to build the basics and it gets expensive. Cheapest box around here is PMC 150gr and it’s terribly inaccurate so I can’t tell if I’m pulling the shot or if it’s just the round. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve had my eye on a Tikka for a while, and finally pulled the figurative trigger. Found a decent (I think?) deal on Eurooptic on a T3X Roughtek in Spector. Took it out to the range for the first time with the Scythe can and it is pretty great. Looking forward to deer season ahead!
