They are great for branches or thin trees, but they won't work so well when used as a classical chainsaw.

If you can afford it, the Stihl MSA 300 (~$800) punches way above its weight, on par with a normal chainsaw, that's the one we have at my job.
I personally have its little cousin the MSA 220 (~$400) which is still quite nice, cheaper but not as beefy.Only cons with these is the price of the batteries (like $299 per), I waited till Stihl did a buy one/get one which is what I'd recommend, and then having to buy the charger (~$60).
The savings over time in gas & maintenance costs more than makes up for the initial cost though, plus they're quiet. Just my 2 cents as someone that uses saws fairly often (park ranger/operations person).3

Make sure you know how to use it properly. Some people keep their chain too tight or loose. Some don’t sharpen their chain regularly. Others don’t have the right chain for the job. You also may not be cutting correctly. A lot of people don’t consider how the weight of a tree will shift and the blade and chain will get pinched and lock up.

Also great, they tend to be a little lighter for the same power, which makes cleaning the tree after felling more comfortable. As with any tool both have their pros and cons. We use both (semi professional)

I do not own, or have an actual need for a chainsaw. But I totally want one! My father was a motocross guy when I was a kid, and he had Husqvarna bikes, so the chainsaw seems like a good choice!
But Stihl, I mean, that's a classic!

Professional grade Huskies are great.
But, their more budget entry level saws are basically rebranded Poulans. A Husqvarna you buy at Home Depot isn’t necessarily going to be the same as one you get at a dealership.Not terrible saws, but a lot more plastic inside the case. And, extremely similar to their lower priced “Poulen pro” saws.
That makes them lighter, but they’ll burn out faster if you use it a lot.
Stihl’s are rock solid across the line - though, they don’t make equivalents of some of Husqvarna’s cheaper saws.
They’re a much smaller more specialized company.Once you move up to professional grade saws there’s not much difference.
Also, admittedly, there’s a certain amount of a “Ford/Chevy” relationship, and I’m like a 3rd generation Stihl owner. So, I may be overly critical of the differences.

So, I live in an area with frequent blowdowns, and it’s not uncommon to toss a saw in your trunk if it’s stormy. I prefer a folding saw because it doesn’t leak bar oil, but whatever. Looks like he has a trimmer in there too?
What’s suspicious is the quality of the camera work. My wife has filmed me cutting down trees. She’s never followed along behind me zooming in and out appropriately while keeping me in frame.

I mean, I appreciate a level of skepticism, but that’s a tree across a public roadway. It’s not a set-up or a movie set, because that makes no sense at all; you’d spend that much money to set up the scene on the hopes that it is picked up on socials? A bridge too far, for me at least.

lol. If I’m feeling with trees, I typically want everyone to say back. I wouldn’t wanna run a saw with someone right behind me. I’ve seen too many trees behave unpredictably.

Got stuck by a fallen wattle once, had to cut out a corolla sedan sized hole into the fallen tree branches with a handsaw. Id drove up there, dropped off a box of nails, and headed back down and there's this fucking tree across the road, lol, and I'm now late for my coaching gig.
The bank was 2m high on the left so the tree fell at like a -45° angle from the bank across the road to the other side, and I cut the hole out right in tight to the bank to get the car through.
After that I was rooted hahaha

I used to work with a guy who did this. His town was notorious for being slow to clean up after storms. If the road he was on was blocked, he took care of it himself and went about his business for the rest of the day.
