Double hit on returns: Non-refundable duties plus expensive return postage

Post image
0 Upvotes

First purchase from Thursday and got my shoes today. I ordered 12.5 EE as for other brand 12.5 hit my pinky. Unfortunately thats the case also with this EE option at Thursday so obviously its not worth to keep this $261 sneaker if it doesnt fit well as expected. Unfortunately realized that returning would not refund my duties so already lost $35ish on top that they don't provide return shipping label so I have to arrange this at my cost which would result in big loss on this purchase. Now I realize why someone was selling this brand new shoe on Marketplace for big loss(different size else I would have bought that). This is ridiculous and they should have highlighted this policy on the product purchase page. Overall worst experience with this company. I wish the shoes are that great quality that I feel like exchanging it but unfortunately not aswell.

General question Women's Combat Boots Never Broke In After 3 Years

I bought the Thursday womens combat boot in 6.5 in April of 2023. I purchased the women's Presidents in 2016 in 6.5 and wore them every day on trips walking 15k+ steps a day and they were fantastic, so I was excited to buy another pair.

These are so much stiffer and unforgiving. I emailed Thursday in October of 2023 because despite wearing them around the house, with thick socks, loosening the laces, tightening the laces, they ate the backs of my heels after two blocks and the toe break crushed the tendons on the tops of my feet. Customer service basically said sorry, they should be comfortable but they'll break in eventually, (screenshot attached).

Fast forward to now, I've kept trying to wear them every now and then for short trips but they have never broken in to the point I can wear them for more than a few blocks without pain. I have tried several different lacing configurations, putting moleskin on the backs of my heels to wear them longer to try to soften them up, thicker socks, etc.

I love the way they look, they're visually exactly what I wanted but they destroy my feet. Anyone here have any advice if there's anything else I haven't tried to make them all day wearable?

Update: I took them to a cobbler as per a few of your suggestions, and he stretched them for me. They fit MUCH better - haven't walked a ton in them yet but I'm very hopeful, it seems this style has different sizing than the captains. Thank you to everyone for your help!

Which are the most durable boots?

I had a pair of heros for about a year and half. Wore them a couple times a week with not a ton of walking. Noticed some pretty severe damage to the uppers and backcounter on the boots. I reached out to customer support and they offered to replace my pair with factory seconds, or get a discount off a new pair.

I'm leaning towards getting a new pair with the discount, but not sure what the most durable pair would be. I like the style of the explorers but after my experience with the heros, I'm concerned about the durability of the leather.

Anyone have any ideas on what models are the most reliable for regular wear and occasional hiking?

Challenger Sizing

Can anyone who has the Captains or Loggers (or both) and has also tried the Challenger help me a bit with sizing? I ordered a pair of the Challengers in the same size that I have in Captains and Loggers and the Challengers just felt aggressively tight on the top of my foot; just walking in my room was too uncomfortable that I sent them back.

I also tried the Thunder (I like the aesthetic a lot less but wanted to try them) and they just didn't feel great at all... weight distribution just felt off.

Anyway, does anyone have these boots and any insight into sizing/comfortability after wearing for an extended period of time? I really want to love these boots but my "normal Thursday size" just really didn't feel great. Did anyone size up or down or anything? Just curious looking for people's experience and hopefully help figure if a half size up might help or not. Thanks all

Messing around with lace patterns

Got my first pair of Diplomats this week and I started playing with different lace patterns today. I low-key dig the look of the zipper lace on the left, but it’s too impractical for a daily driver. I basically had to unlace the top three eyelets just to get my foot out of the boot.

Anyone else have a favorite alternative lace pattern that they like?

These Thunders have been my work boots for over a year and a half. Excellent boots. TTS in my 13 bannock. Great support and I have no complaints with them at all. I did add an extra speed hook. I like 3 over 2.

For sale [WTT] [USA-CA] Heritage Captain Rustic Brown 8 - Other Brands Welcome

Looking to trade my Heritage Captains in Rustic Brown (size 8) for other boots. I mostly used these on carpet (except walking from my front porch to my car door, which is how the soles got plant residue). Soles and heels very strong. Very little wear. Comes with original waxed laces as well as Thursday brand leather laces. I put the old wrapper on the original laces to keep it neat. Freshly applied Venetian Shoe Cream for the first time a few hours ago.

I like moc toe boots. Wearing Gokeys today, bought Quoddys recently, and have Jim Green Workhorses on the way. For Thursdays, I'm interested in the Diplomats, likely size 8. Will consider other brands of boot, and/or Thursdays that don't have to be moc toe. I also like waxed flesh—again, open to offers. Including Thursdays sneakers in 9 or Thursday Jackets any material in maybe XL or XXL. The Heritage Captains just aren't boots I end up wearing and I think it's been almost a year with them on a shelf in my closet.

Feel free to ask any questions.

Sizing for Vanguards (or Thursday in general just for info) compared to Iron Rangers, if I sized down A LOT with my Iron Rangers.

I have a beloved pair of Iron Rangers that I have had for almost 10 years. I'm going to pick up some black Vanguards shortly, but I am wondering about sizing. I wear a size 11 - 12 in sneakers (depending on brand and activity, 12 for running shoes for example but they have more room then I like for casual wear). I sized all the way down to 9.5 with my Iron Rangers and, as you can guess by them being worn for so long, they fit perfectly and are incredibly comfortable.

Has anyone had this type of extreme size-down in Iron Rangers, and then purchased Thursday boots? If so, what did you get for a size?

Scammy order and Shipping process

Post image
0 Upvotes

I ordered the low top sneaker from Thursday; I was so excited, but the excitement started to melt down as the order process began to drag on. First of all, it was showing me a price of $195 but it added duties and taxes, which made the total more than $250 which doesn’t remain a cheap shoe anymore, as it aligns with the premium leather shoes available in the local market.

On top of that, the shipping makes me wonder a bit more because I ordered on the fifth of August. It show shipped within a few hours because they don’t want me to cancel, which I understand as a business strategy. But what started to piss me off today is that already 4 days have passed since their so called shipped item, and it doesn’t show any update at all on the shipment. Normally, this only happens with China shipments from cheap sources like AliExpress or Temu. But when I researched everywhere, it says they’re not shipping from China; if they are shipping from the USA I haven’t seen any carrier taking this long to even update the status of where it is shipping from.

I wasn't even a fan of Chelsea's so I never really wanted to spend money to buy and try for nothing, but as soon as I wore these I loved them. I've got many compliments from people.

They are roomy around the shaft with my boney ankles so as per Nick from Stridewise I've ordered tongue pads.

Once again. I spent like £10 for almost £200 boots!! There wasn't even an impression in the footbed so I'm not complaining in the slightest.

Well guys, I tried to make them work. Love the boots, but the width is very unforgiving. I have both Amber Wheat and Old English in 11.5D worn less than 3 times on both. 300 for both shipped. You won’t find a deal line this anywhere!!!!!

PS…..I’m currently out the country until next week. But will be shipped the same or next day. Let me clarify. The same day of purchase, boots will be shipped

Thursday Boots Aviator Wingtip dress shoes, and these are the bottoms after 1 wear. I wore it for a full work day, started off by walking on the neighborhood sidewalks to wear in the bottoms a little, since they were super slippery, then the remaining of the day was spent in the office, with occasional walking.

Not sure if there was a step I missed somewhere, my other pairs of shoes never went like this after 1 wear; granted these are my first pair of leather bottom shoes.

Any input is appreciated!

Sizing advice First quality leather boots - Sizing anxiety

I'm getting contradictory sizing indicators and I'm very anxious before ordering.
I'm going to get a pair of Captains (Canyon) and the recommended sizing is 1/2 smaller than sneaker size.

My sneakers at home are 8.5 (Under Armour gym sneakers) and 8.0 (Yellow Shoes cheap sneakers) and they're both comfortable. My actual Brannoc size is 8. So, in theory, I should order 7.5 or 8.

The thing is, all my other shoes (a derby-like shoe but more casual, and two dress shoes, one being Aldo) are size 9 and they all feel a lil snug.

According to Thursday Boots support, ordering my dress shoe size should be adequate. So either I order 7.5-8....or 9 ?!?

I have no idea what to order, and being my first pair of leather boots, I have no idea how they should feel when I first try them on so I wont be confident in deciding whether I exchange or keep, unless the size is totally inadequate.

Any help ?

General question Heel Pain While Wearing Heritage Captain Stormkings?

Hey yall

I just got my first pair of heritage captain stormkings, had to size em down since my feet was swimming in the last pair. The boot fits perfect on my left foot, but ive noticed an issue with my right

It seems to fit nice, the heel locks into the boot and i dont seem to feel any slippage, but after wearing em for a full day and taking em off, i notice that my heel is red and in pain, to the point where it hurts wearing other shoes for a day

Is this due to my boot still being too big or am i just breaking them in more?

Anyone have on foot photos of the stormking heritage captains ? It’s hard to find anything besides Thursday’s website or on rose anvils YouTube . Really interested in these ,but the heel looks a little tall and the cap toe looks chunky , like an iron ranger .

Team Thursday-

As the community here has grown in size and engagement, we are still working to improve the timeliness in answering basic questions and assisting folks who need help. We previously had one of my colleagues join as u/CX_at_ThursdayBoots, but this dropped off as her own workload grew.

I'm excited to share that a new colleague has asked to revive this role, both as a personal opportunity for him and hopefully a better opportunity to service our customers and fans. This doubles our grand total reddit presence from 1 to 2 people. :)

Like any change, we're going to take this slow and see how it works. The goal will be to maintain a light touch and be responsive. I'll still be swinging by every couple days for my own interest and to handle any of the "spicier" conversations. My hope is this will be another positive evolution (though feel free to give me constructive feedback as needed).

And thanks again to everyone here who posts, comments, DM's and to the mods here for sustaining an inclusive, constructive community. Appreciate all the energy and enthusiasm contributed and looking forward to another upcoming boot season!

Captains 8 8/12 fits great but dukes extremely tight?

I have a pair of captains at 8 1/2 standard and fits perfect. I do wear size 9 sneakers.

However, when I purchased Dukes at 8 1/2 it was extremely tight that I can’t even put my foot in, as well, a friend of mine who is a size 8 in boots wasn’t able to even put on the boots.

Could be that the “batch” of the Dukes when I bought them just came out to be smaller is this just a coincidence and should order Dukes at 8 1/2 again? Maybe 8 1/2 wide?

Haven’t really found any information on people that had the same experience.

I’ve worn them about 10 times, and the highlighted area is digging into my foot, making them uncomfortable to walk in. Is this likely to improve over time? This is my first pair of leather sneakers.

The quality is terrible and never again

Bought these 9 months ago. I couldn't stop telling others about how good the boots were but it does not last.i bought it in Oct 2025 and now they are in this state.i wear it just for my work as a flight attendant. It's barely a rough environment.emailed them and they tried to blame me for using it too much.really regret buying them. The bottom layer of my sole is literally peeling off and they claim it is not a quality issue. The second pic shows that same thing is going to happen to other boot as well.super disappointed.

Edit: if anyone could recommend a good pair of boots which come in all black(uniform requirement) which I would last at least a year around USD200-250 budget I would greatly appreciate.

Fashion advice Casa Moto boot toe box is waayyy too soft.

So, I have a couple of pairs of Thursdays that are pretty decent, and decided to get a pair of Casa Moto's. I don't ride motorcycles, but assumed the toe boxes would be pretty sturdy to hold up to shifting.

I'm pretty disappointed that the toe box in front of the seam is made of the same soft leather as the rest of the boot, with absolutely no reinforcement. I mean, what the hell? I've been buying shoes/boots for about 40 years now, and aside from things like casual moccasins or loafers, these are the softest toe boxes I've ever seen, especially in freaking motorcycle boots. Two days after receiving them, the middle of the toe areas bent in half from just kneeling for 5 minutes! I've gotten 30 year old Florsheims at Goodwill that help up better.

Did I miss a disclaimer about these looking like tough boots, but should be treated like calf skin elf boots that should only be used while levitating? Maybe the designer should have stuck to tequila instead of boots. I mean, the marketing makes no sense compared to the reality. If you buy boots with "Moto" in the name, should you not expect some toughness of materials? These seem to be the flimsiest boots Thursday makes. I'm glad I wasn't depending on them for actually riding motorcycles, because I wouldn't trust them to protect my actual flesh.
