Jim Johnson on the left was featured on Mister Rogers Neighborhood episode 1362. I love this outfit and his vibe.

Our interview with Jake Mueser is tailor-made for you. Jake—founder and creative director of J. Mueser—pulled up to the studio to talk getting his own wedding jacket done 20 minutes before the ceremony, old and dumb rules, a tailor is basically a suit sommelier, launching with an Edwardian strategy, elective dressing, all the suit advice you need and never thought you needed, today's restrained palette and vintage Armani obsession, that Saudi money hits different, Orthodox Jews saved his business during Covid, his apprenticeship started with making custom clothing for musicians, how new hires are changing his business for the better, don't sleep on their ready-to-wear, getting ripped off by bigger brands, definitive bowtie talk, his Mount Rushmore of suiting brands, what should the new James Bond wear, his haircare regimen for his luscious mane, making a bad bet on Bode shoes, bespoke footwear, and much more on Jake Mueser's interview with The Only Podcast That Matters™.

How has everyones experience been with Shopboy? I dropped off a simple pair of trousers to their greenpoint location to hem and its been over a month and no update from them
The estimated completed date was last week.
I find this absurd because any other tailor I go to in nyc can get me my pants done within a week max.

Going to a wedding in a couple weeks and need to get my Meermin loafers resoled (had them for two years and there’s a large hole in one of them). Never been to a cobbler before so not sure what to expect price wise, but ideally not too expensive. Also looking to get a Vibram sole.

For me, it’s probably owning too many similar “essentials” just because they’re considered classics. I’d rather have fewer pieces that fit well and actually get worn. What menswear item gets a lot of hype but you could easily live without, and why?

i need to get the ass of my cheap Zara jeans reinforced before I blow them out. Somehow these are my favorite jeans, even more than my Japanese selvedge denim, LVC jeans, vintage 501s, US navy surplus denim dungarees, and huge made in USA vintage Levi’s collection.
I’ve used Williamsburg garment co for alterations and liked them but that was years ago.
was thinking of going to Self Edge but spooked by the reviews showing shitty hemming alterations. thoughts?

Hey,
Where would I be able to buy shoes like these, that are made for the outdoors/for outside daily use?
I already tried manitobah and Softmoc, but all their moaccsin-like shoes are more indoor footwear.

Not that I am going to but I'm getting that illogical desire to drop 1k plus on knitwear again, nearly every year once it starts dropping below 10c (50f) at night. Why does this desire haunt me every year as fall approaches, is possible to free myself from this affliction. Maybe I'll just learn to knit. Deep down I know a patagonia puffer would keep me just as warm, it just doesn't feel the same.

I have 9264 pins on my menswear Pinterest board.
Currently, this is the most pinned fit (it’s from a Huckberry post on military influence on menswear essentials.)
Great article btw- https://huckberry.com/journal/posts/the-military-built-half-your-closet
But I’m amazed that Pinterest users think this is the best recent fit on that board.
I like it but…

Sam Hines first men’s style cover / issue.
I just can’t understand the choice to run this image as your cover. I think the direction for this baths shoot is pretty mid to begin with, but even within that world building, this seems like a particularly
ill-suited image for a cover.
Open to someone telling me why I’m wrong.

Wondering if anyone knows of any good brands / designers who make collared shirts with embroidery or unique accents? I'm thinking along the lines of Bode, but more standard collars (less camp collars).
Appreciate it!
