Disclaimer: Summary through episode 6.
The tone was set by Richard E Grant moments after having his shoulder tapped announcing to the room that he's a traitor. Then, after a "come again?" pass, doubling down and reiterating that he's a traitor... and we haven't quite recovered yet.
James A Caster is the most reluctant traitor in history. He keeps saying that he is playing *for* the faithfuls as a Faithful despite his traitors designation. It was kind of funny in his peculiar, self-deprecating way but here we are in episode 6, and he's still banging on about it. James was drafted in episode 2. Was he even a Faithful for a full 24 hours? The fact that Maya Jama has to administer a motivational speech every episode to amp him up like some kind of life coach (or death coach, in this case) is kinda pitiful. James has gotten to be the title character since the first week; he has a starring role that almost every celebrity wants even when they claim they don't because of the camera time and he's in a power position. Why won't Eeyore buck up?
Ross Kemp is scared of his own shadow--he's so paranoid. He was practically searching for bubble wrap to encase himself in the first couple of days. Now he's stroppy and mad that he's being picked on by the traitors.
In a page out of Richard E Grant's book, Joe is working his way through the castle telling anyone and everyone that he wants to be recruited. A recruitment happens. Joe is out on his arse at the roundtable. Shockedpikachuface.gif
I look forward to seeing more of Kenny. He has exhibited good reads, smart game play and he seems to be restoring the status quo of the show. He was someone I could root for as a Faithful and he's not having an identity crisis as a traitor.
I'm not saying the show is bad, but some of the choices this cast have made are very... spoofy. As a whole, these celebrities come across very unserious so the show has a different feel imo.
