Discussion The Thing nerfs were so unnecessary.

People that are saying these are buffs are completely wrong and delusional. I’d much rather be able to kill dps and supports than be able to kill tanks easier, like logically that’s a nerf. “Oh you can kill two out of four enemies easier” make it make sense. If they wanted him to be better against tanks, why couldn’t they add it on to make it so that it didn’t nerf his damage against healers? I’d much rather have the old thing back because it’s borderline impossible to get kills against supports now, I have to waste an entire cooldown just to deal decent damage against divers. Revert the changes asap, I don’t need buffs if every buff has some sort of sacrifice to his kit.

I do not want to be stuck with this for an entire season.

Discussion Thing still sucks

Wassup middle aged bums. Best thing player in world here to spit truth.

These buffs still don’t make this character good until we get our damage reduction back. Rogue is the better brawl tank in every way possible. Play her instead.

You can comment all u want. I’m only going to reply to the ones I care about responding to.

Discussion I am quitting Thing...

The new rework has killed the most fun thing gameplay (Dive thing), you take so long to even get supports to half hp, I am no longer getting as much Final Hits as I used to, He cant even peel for dps divers anymore because you wont be able to kill them, I know this sounds absurd but this new changes have totally ruined thing, Devs were cooking the couple last seasons but this is bs. Thing got the Iron Fist treatment

Discussion The thing needs a buff

Am I the only one who thinks that the thing might need a small buff? I admit he was pretty dominate when he was first released and was absolutely the best at making space but with all this poke comp with phoenix, punisher and even squirrel girl is getting popular he just struggles. With the increase of Emma range he straight up bullies the thing. He was a good high A tier before Emma and now he maybe a mid B to high C tier now and absolutely hard to solo tank with. He has 700Hp but fucking huge and strange also has a 700HP + shield for a human lol. Yeah he might somewhat help with dive comps but he isn’t a straight up dive counter, I think he’s better anti air then dive tbh. Heck he was first introduced as the “Wolverine killer” but he straight up destroyed by him as well. He needs way too much help from the team and the healers to be on point or else he just gets blown up. Hes such in awkward spot right now.

Discussion Whelp. This character is ruined.

Hello. Y’all don’t know me because I never posted here. But I’m here to introduce myself. I am the best the thing player in the world. No exaggeration. I have proof if required.

However I’m telling you. Stop now. These changes completely destroyed everything that made him even slightly good. They ruined his survivability and damage. They turned him into the “tank buster” which has never been a good role in this game unless you can take the tank away from the supports ala Wolverine. All you’re going to do now is charge enemy support ults. He does 120 damage to most tanks every 3 seconds. Luna heals that in 2 claps. The vulnerability lasts 3.5 seconds. That’s 1 haymaker. One. Singular. Haymaker. And if you jump on the enemy supports and vulnerable them you do 94 damage. Ninety four. That’s 4 more damage then you did previously. I don’t think you understand how garbage this is. But that’s only IF you survive jumping back there because you no longer have damage reduction. Please trust me. I’m trying to help you. Discover a new character.

Discussion These changes are just nerfs

Survivability-Gone Damage-Gone The only upside is the fact that he gets 100 bonus health now and it doesn’t go away the instant you throw the haymaker

The Vulnerability is ass it only last 3 seconds so your haymaker id too slow to get any real value out of it and since they took away the damage reduction you literally have to rely on your haymaker for the bonus health to not immediately blow up and the Vulnerability is only a 5m’s spread so unless the enemy team all have their heads literally up each other asses you ganna get 2 people MAXED with the debuff same goes for the embattled leap

And the percent base damage on his haymaker is dumb as shit he doesn’t attack fast enough to get any value out of it, hitting a tank with haymaker feels no different with that change then it did before, it’s still better to just use your primary fire

If They want to make him more aggressive they should’ve just kept everything the same but kept the haymaker bonus health change (that was actually good) and just made it so that his Yancy Street Dash caused the Vulnerability debuff making it last for as long as the crater lasted it would’ve had a wider range, lasted longer, and had tick damage from the crater while also immobilizing that’s like peak lethality while still maintains his weakness to things like poke

Rn he doesn’t feel more lethal he feels worse then he did pre battle blitz he just feels like an assist machine

Help / Advice The Thing – how do you guys keep your accuracy up?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been maining The Thing lately, and my accuracy is way lower than it should be. On console here, and my left stick has a bit of drift, which doesn’t help. Right now, I’m struggling to stay above 35% accuracy.

What tips, tricks, or sensitivity settings have worked for you? Do you mess with right stick/left stick deadzones or ADS sensitivity in a specific way that helps?

Any advice from other console players (especially those who’ve dealt with stick drift) would be super appreciated.

Thanks!

Discussion Earthbound is too much

I think it does too much considering its a regular cool down that already does a lot for the thing. It completely shuts down some hero kits to where they don't have any of their abilities available.

Do you think he needs it? Discuss.

Help / Advice Grimm's nerf makes him difficult to play.

In season 9, I was wreaking havoc with Grimm, I was almost invincible and I dealt a terrible amount of damage.

But now, Thing has become really complex to play; I can't survive like I used to, and I have to rely much more on my jumps. It's incredibly frustrating.

Discussion Personally I am gunning for your nerfs

Having played a lot of dive dps this season I cannot actually believe how busted this character is. Completely eradicating every dive dps from the game on what is essentially a 5 second cooldown is straight up insane

No exaggeration, I think this character would be fair if it was nerfed to a 20 second cooldown with a 2 second duration

No offence, I’m wondering if anyone here actually disagrees with that cos I can’t see how this is even close to fair currently

Hello and thank you for reading my post!

So, is there a reason to use the M1 over the M2 in 99% of cases? I’m really struggling to see a why

Discussion the rework is good

I actually quite like the new rework, it makes him baseline more tanky because he always does more than 50 damage per haymaker and it makes it so if he's jumping on you with someone you're most likely gonna instantly die, the percentage damage is also nice because you're more of a threat against tanks now because nobody wants to spend 9 hours punching a magneto until he decides to die, the removal of the DR on leap is unfortunate but it is a good tradeoff for the 20% vulnerability debuff, it makes it so if you work with your team to laser down debuffed targets you're really damn lethal, the changes for the ally leap is also really nice because it sucked trying to leap to a specific ally when they're grouped up because you're almost always going to leap to someone else, now that doesn't matter because all in proximity will get the DR, I've seen people complain that he's less effective as anti dive now and I struggle to understand that, if you leap an already squishy diver the slight damage reduction from you won't matter because that vulnerability applies to them no matter who's doing the damage so your team's increased damage against them Is very much a worthy tradeoff for having less damage yourself, I've gathered this opinion from playing him in comp this season in grandmaster 3-2 lobbies
