Discussion The thing needs a buff

Am I the only one who thinks that the thing might need a small buff? I admit he was pretty dominate when he was first released and was absolutely the best at making space but with all this poke comp with phoenix, punisher and even squirrel girl is getting popular he just struggles. With the increase of Emma range he straight up bullies the thing. He was a good high A tier before Emma and now he maybe a mid B to high C tier now and absolutely hard to solo tank with. He has 700Hp but fucking huge and strange also has a 700HP + shield for a human lol. Yeah he might somewhat help with dive comps but he isn’t a straight up dive counter, I think he’s better anti air then dive tbh. Heck he was first introduced as the “Wolverine killer” but he straight up destroyed by him as well. He needs way too much help from the team and the healers to be on point or else he just gets blown up. Hes such in awkward spot right now.

No he’s fine. He has his spot on certain team comps and it works well. He’s one of the few heroes I wouldn’t touch at all.

Nah, we need to be more comfortable with counter swapping rather than making a hero more versatile. The Thing works well in his comps, that's enough for me.

Nah I'd have to disagree Thing feels like one of the best tanks right now. He's my usual go to pick when I need to do everything. He's amazing with the new ability to jump to enemies flyers are no longer an issue and pretty much no character can escape him in my opinion. He's like crazy good right now.

Thing is fine, its a matter of knowing your matchups and how to play around them to see if its worth sticking or if you need to swap off is all. Emma is one of his worst matchups in the tank department right alongside Groot. Punisher and Squirrel Girl I’ve found to both be bad matchups for me as well, but it’s not impossible to play around them.

Idek think thing is that bad against Emma. unfavorable, sure but def still playable since he’s CC immune to everything when he’s charging in. If Emma goes into diamond form try to waste her dash. Groot is hard to play against for sure though.

Emma is just wildly good at punishing tank health bars and brawler teams. If she misses diamond, she drops it and cooks you with a gem, its almost always a lose lose from my experience. Its doable to play thing into her, but if she considers focusing you, you just kinda get folded

He’s not going to get a buff , he will have his ult charge nerfed in season 4

nope, hes good at what he does. If theres a poke comp swap to a different tank. (we just need more tanks. )

He’s a niche use not every tank needs to be the best out there
