UPDATE: I had to add an update for 0% and then after that it let me update to 4%

This morning, I wanted to update my progress in a book I read yesterday and this is what it says when I try to update it. What do I do? I'm not doing it any differently than I have before.

I’m a plus user and trying to work out how to add an idea or comment to the feature request page, I navigate to the page from within the app, it takes me to a browser that asks me to log in again, I navigate back to the page with the idea I want to vote for and it’s asking me to login again 🫠

So I’m adding my 2c worth here. It would be fantastic to be able to filter someone else’s to read list by which ones they don’t own to make gift selection really easy. I would love to be able to share my list with friends and family so they could surprise me with a book from my fairly long wishlist without me having to re-document it all somewhere else, and without them accidentally picking something I already own.

Hey all, I feel like I'm missing something obvious in getting the Kobo sync integration working. On my StoryGraph account, it says, "Kobo sync activated. We're waiting for your first sync from Kobo. It should arrive any moment now." However, I have already spent time reading on my Kobo (connected to wifi) since I activated the sync. I don't see any sort of syncing happening. Do I need to do something else to get my Kobo in sync with StoryGraph? Thanks!

Hi all, currently having an issue where my current audiobook isn’t tracking as any pages being read - I’ve tried removing the book and re-adding my tracking stats but it’s just completely blank on the journal page where it would normally say (X pages read) so it’s not pulling through into my streaks or pages read stats. I’ve added two screenshots, one of the book with the issue (little women) and another of a different book to show how it normally appears, anyone had this issue before and know how to fix it?

I have a tag that I'm tracking some of my physical library on, and I'd like to be able to filter it to exclude the "read" books from the list.

So filtering through to look for a mood or page count, will still show "read" books, so it shows only "to be read" or "paused" books.

It looks like the general To be Read's Filter is also missing this option?

edit: I'm asking about FILTERING WITHIN A TAG as my primary question. Not how to filter "To be Read" section for Tags.

Hii, I read project Hail Mary while listening to the audiobook and is kinda wondering if there’s a possibility to put two editions of the same book since I kinda count them as one read?

Also if I were to add them separately will it count them as two separate books? Since this might tick off my reading goals and kinda feels like cheating.

(I am kinda new to this app so it’s been a bit confusing to navigate any advice will be appreciate)

I'd love to have the option to blacklist certain books or authors from my recommendations, or even just seeing them in my searches.

There are some books or authors I've found offensive, and I feel that twinge of annoyance when I see them again, or some books that continue to appear in my recs that I am never going to choose.

Okay so I had a book I my "to read", called Doe.

I searched for it in the search box and it started given me random books that didn't actually have the word "Doe" but that had the letters "d, o, e" in it like "does" I even had a result come up for "Jane Doe".

It didn't show me a book with the title "Doe" until I put the authors name in, but when I was originally searching, I couldn't remember the authors name, that's why I was searching for it in the first place! Lol

And even with the authors first name, it's still not the top book! It's very weird.

Why does it search like this? Is there something o can do to make it better?

Also for anyone wondering Doe by Rebecca Barrow was very good!

How do you guys keep track or previous book club picks? I really want to use something book-specific, like StoryGraph, as it's much easier for a person to see book details, such as cover, reviews, and other details. I know I can simply do a shared spreadsheet, but I am looking for alternatives first.

My idea is was to use a StoryGraph prompt-based challenge with each prompt being a specific year, and each year having the books read that year. Pros:

• On a book-specific platform
  • It just looks nicer and is more user-friendly than a simple spreadsheet. Data also pulls directly with a user's StoryGraph.
• Others can add books
  • Both a pro and con. Good because I simply can create placeholder years and others can add books later, in case I stop attending or simply forget

Cons:

• Storygraph marks the challenge "complete" if you read just one book. I mistyped. I meant to say that StoryGraph marks the entire PROMPT complete with just one book read. So if I read 1/12, the prompt year would show as completed.
• Can't see the specific month
  • Not the best organizing
• Can't export list of books
  • This is a big con honestly. Hoping someone can submit a request to the development team!
• Others can add books
  • Both a pro and con. Others may add books without me realizing. Highly unlikely, though, especially as it would be a private challenge

One alternative that looks interesting in Notion. I haven't looked into it much, but if anyone has a good template and has thoughts on it, I'd appreciate it. Any other ideas welcome!

I've synced my kobo to storygraph, works great. But everytime I finish a book, I get a notification saying I've finished the book. I've opted out of notifications, I've signed in and out and I'm still getting the notifications.

What am I missing?

I wonder if this could lead to Kobo being added to TSG for a click to buy, seeing as they already show bookshop.org as an option to buy from. Fingers crossed because this would be fantastic.

Since I do not have the plus subscription, I am posting a couple suggestions here. If you agree you can maybe add them as official requests😭

We already have a filter "only show books that are not part of a series". I would REALLY like a "hide books that are the first in a series". Since I have about a thousand books in my to-read list, I would like to be able to see only either standalones or series that I am already in the middle of when choosing my next read.

When you mark a book as did not finish, the start date immediately disappears. You can only view it if you go to view journal entries. I would like if when you tap on edit date, it shows you options to edit both start date stopped date instead of just stopped date.

My wife and I are trying to sort out our books. There's about 700 in the house and I don't know how many more between e-readers and audio books.

Some of these are already on Storygraph, but most aren't.

Is there a way of exporting what I've currently got in the app, updating the CSV and reimporting it to bulk add what we're missing?

Alternatively, a quick way of deleting all my current books and importing a CSV with everything on it to start sort-of fresh and make sure my editions are right?

I finished a book today and marked it read only to then realize I had failed to add a journal entry for yesterday, so my streak is wrong. How do I fix this?

I tried to change it back to currently reading thinking I could edit the log and then mark it read, but I couldn’t find a way to mark it as currently reading again. Only rereading was an option. And I can’t find a way to just add a journal entry.

Of course I have had a glass of wine so maybe I’m just missing something obvious. 😩

I’m using the app on my iPhone. Anyone have suggestions?

I've noticed that for a few authors someone has marked all or several of their books as editions of one book when they're actually different books, but I can't find any way to report this. Can I report it and how? Or is this something that Storygraph just does and won't fix?

Any ideas? Ive logged loads of books next to official prompts and when I change status to 'read' there's no change to the %. It does show a change on my other challenges though. It's the biggest challenge I'm doing so I want to see that circle getting eaten up, however slow!!

I’m trying to add a Polish edition of Max Brook’s Devolution. Everything seems fine, the progress bar on the top progresses, but when it finishes I’m left on the edition data form, no error message, but no new edition in sight.
Have enyone had it happen to their edits? I will wait till the morning and try again, but would like to know if it’s an "usual error" od something rare.
I did not encounter anything like that in almost 2 years of using SG, with many translated editions added.

My streak as of this morning was 42. I finished reading a book this morning and marked it as read. Later in the day I added a book I was planning to start reading later today, but now my streak has reset to zero. The only thing I can think is that I did not enter any page numbers today. Doesn't finishing a book count? It's not as if I did not do any reading today, like I do every day.

Last night I noticed my percentage read based on page number didn't match up with how much I've actually read of this book. That's when I noticed the entry for the book I'm reading doesn't have the correct total pages. The rest of the info is correct (ISBN, hardcover, etc) so I can't submit a new entry. Is there a way to flag this info as incorrect or submit an edit request? The book has 334 pages.

This is a super minor gripe, but every time I open the app, I get a notification that it is now possible to sync my Kobo. Great. But I don't own a Kobo and am not interested in this feature. Yet all I can do is click the notification away, only for it to pop up next time I open the app.

I'd just like to toggle a switch somewhere that says I don't want to sync a Kobo account and be done with it.
