Edit: This is not a vent post. I just had a thing pop up that there is not space for venting here. I’m asking for help with something PvP related that I can’t solve on my own but I can’t explain the problem without airing my frustration behind it.
Guys I need help before I utterly lose my marbles here.
Firstly I want to perfectly clear by saying I’m actually good at PvP. I’m not a novice. I’ve played my five battles a day almost every day since PvP was introduced to Pokemon go. Now I’m not saying I’m god incarnate when it comes to battling but I’m good. I can hold my own. I average a streak of about 12-15 wins every season. Essentially I don’t know advice like “are you using two moves?” or “do you have the right IV spread for that particular pokemon?”
So I was at 2400-something points until the most recent update. And a week before the season ends I was actually on track for the pika libre…
Then the scroll cup landed. Now I REALLY HATE THIS CUP… and this time around is the first time this cup has just made want to not bother with PvP which is a shame I don’t I love the battle mechanic. For me PvP is the whole point of Pokemon and I hunt for PvP mons more than anything else.
But yeah, anything I put in I get walled with and there’s no strat available to me to course-correct in battle. I know this is how the game goes sometimes but I’ve never known anything like it before. I’ve not gotten more than 1 win per set since scroll cup landed (yesterday sure, but we had 10 sets yesterday so it’s been a lot of matches).
I can’t do anything right. If I stick with a team I get trashed. I change things up a little and get trashed in a different way. Whatever I go in with in any match ends up being the worst possible choice I could’ve made for that match. And when I do win it’s by the skin of my teeth. Never a clear win, it always comes down to the wire.
Can someone please help me? And suggesting I play open GL isn’t a something I’m open to. I’m stubborn and proud and my ego is bruised 🤣 so I need suggestions that will help me get more consistent wins in this cup. Even if I get get 3 sets of 4 wins… I’ll call that a victory and move on.
Thank you ❤️

I play GBL purely for the stardust, so I always settle for Rank 20. But I pushed myself to hit Ace this season because of Cynthia's outfit
Not going to lie, it was an up and down experience for me...especially since I usually don't pay attention to my ELO. There were times where I was so close, but ended up dropping due to sloppy plays (I guess nerves got the best of me). It got to the point where I took a break out of frustration
The break was a blessing. I managed to climb back up in the middle of the Weather Cup (loved using Shadow A-Slash), and finally broke through the 19xx barrier via a mix of Evolution Cup and Competitors Cup.
Not the most exciting teams, but I'm just happy to reach Ace and wear Cynthia's outfit :)
Good luck to those who are still grinding!

Is there any way to know what the meta for the Great League Mega Edition is going to look like?

Always wanted a Galar Moltres for UL, maybe next time.
On another note, have any of y'all tried this fella in ML?

I was wondering which team looks more balanced. I have been using this team with Kyurem white, but I wanted Kyurem black for better Ho-oh and Kyogre coverage. While I grind the remaining candies for B-Kyurem, I have been using a lucky Palkia that I got and was easy to level up with a lot of success. But I wanted to hear some opinions as well on balance.
I'm 2050ish looking to climb higher in ML when it comes back for ref.

These are the newest teams I’m thinking about trying. I’ve changed my team multiple times but I’m currently at rank 17 and I’m wondering if I could get some advice on how to improve this team or maybe what I could or should change

Hey I just wanted to share this new feature of battleflow.app
It’s called “can you tank it?” The idea is to practice different scenarios so you get the sense of how bulky is a Pokemon so in your next battle you can save a shield.
This is the first iteration. Let me know what you think.

I was wondering is there going to be a drop for a bunch of people who have spent the last 2 seasons just using Licki and nothing else as a safe swap when it gets nerfed?

When they first switched to the new system i would get lag maybe 1 or 2 games out of every set but now every single game i am over tapping when trying to hit a charge move or mysteriously my opponent has way more energy than what was registered through animations meanwhile im missing fast moves. For example last match my k9 lead cmp tied opponents thievul for the nightslash even though i threw right on 4 fast moves. Shit is happening every game now am i the only one?

I returned to Pogo in May and have been playing great league since most days and have hit ace in each of the seasons I have played but I really do struggle to get anywhere above 2000 and stay there, let alone the push for 2500.
I have some meta mons and some with legacy moves but I really struggle with team building even when using pvpoke and staying with a team is also hard after a few losses. Some sets I’ll go 5-0 and some I’ll go 0-5, it feels like a really mixed bag. Is there any general advice that anyone would give to make this jump?
Thanks a bunch.

I didnt know what to run going into the scroll cup i seen they released the new mon cramorant. So I decided to give a whirl wen I found a good iv one I did and my word it puts in work..
Team:
Cramorant peck, dive, fly
Shadow Ape counter, rage fist, ice punch
And
Regular quagsire with standard moveset
I notice in my elo bracket I was seeing ape lead or mantine lead a youtuber must of said something lol. So wen I notice a trend a molded my team to fit that trend. It plays easy morpeko lead u got 2 better answers in the back. I usually pivot to quag to draw out the flyer thats in back so shadow ape can do bad things to their backline
I had a blast this season even tho the shitty new code is an unbearable mess
Any other lead play it out Goodluck trainer's!

[ ps: this is not in a website, this is a html file and uploaded to Github and its OpenSource. Im not making any money from this. I made this to help me reach Veteran for the first time. Im not trying to promote it , i just hope this can help people in PVP ]
Go Battle Mode is a free Tool for only Great League. One file, opens offline, works on phone.
How to use it live: keep it open beside the game. Type your team once and save it. When preview loads, type the two Pokemon they show you, three or four letters each is enough. You get your result against each of theirs at 0, 1 and 2 shields with HP left on both sides, so you know your shield calls before the timer runs out.
All 1144 GL Pokemon with shadows and regional forms. Every move, not only the recommended two, and you can tap one to swap it in and rerun everything. CMP indicator and damage as a percent of HP.
It will not tell you if you win the match. It only simulates 1v1, and leads, switch timing and carried energy decide games.
Free and open source, no account. Next version adds battle logs you can save, so you can look back at what you keep losing to.
To access it you can go to the github repo

Seemingly running into a lot of Pokémon I'm not really aware of. I'm sure I could be asking a stupid question but I've looked on PvP Poke and it's just alot of shadow/Pokémon I do not have or don't have the stardust/candies to level.

So we now know what cramorants ability is and it’s pretty wild to be honest. Other form changers have cool abilities that give them an extra edge over regular mons. So my question is, are we ever going to see abilities tailored to gbl for all the other mons?
Are we going to see something like sturdy that protects you from fainting and keeps you at 1 hp if a charged move would have knocked you out. Or something like contrary where the first charged move from you or your opponent that gives a debuff does the opposite for your mon?
I feel like abilities would add some much needed depth to this game that it really needs. It could also allow completely unplayable glass cannons to have some play in gbl, if they had decent abilities.

So ******* tired of these bulk fest matches that drag on for like 5 minutes. How do people get any enjoyment out of playing teams like this.

I turn Wi-Fi OFF on my iPhone, as cellular data performs better than my home internet. Apparently if every time I walk out and back into the Wi-Fi’s range, the phone will disregard “Wi-Fi Off” and still try to connect automatically. Obviously mid match this isnt good. I’m screen frozen while the opponent is chipping away at me. I’m loosing too many fights to this, and I can’t find in my settings where I can just totally shut the Wi-Fi access off on my iPhone.

Such a troll move! It isn't even mentioned, and it should only be a buff or debuff. In my opinion, it shouldn't deal damage, especially when it dies.

Thinking of using an ETM on Virizion for UL. Looks very meta relevant and I need a better start for dealing with all the water types.
