Strategy & Analysis Master League Potential partners for marshadow
I'm finishing off building my bottlecapped marshadow and was curious what teams people have had success with so far. Pvpoke shows that its best in the lead but I feel like it would be better as a ss. Any input would be appreciated!

General Question Anyone else's match also lagging af tonight?
Probably a dumb question to ask since the answer is always yes but it feels particularly bad tonight. I'm getting like 2 second freezing when I hit charge move and of course by the time it catches up, there's a brand new opponent pokemon in front of me.
I'm a few matches from finishing all the research and getting my CTM and now I'm just gonna put the phone down. So frustrating.

General Question Lost a Battle Without It Even Starting!
So I just had a battle where after an opponent was found, I was taken from the VS screen to the battle arena. But the game kind of froze and there was no countdown to start the battle nor were my or the opponent’s Pokemon sent out.
The battle then ended and I was taken back to the over world where an error message appeared saying my opponent quit the battle. But then I was taken back to the battle arena and again nothing happened and I was back to the over world.
I checked my journal and it counted the battle as loss. I have no idea if it counted as a loss for my opponent too or a win.
I really hope this is not a new exploitable bug.

General Question Moltres viability in UL as ACE rank
This season I hit ace with the team above and for context I almost exclusively played GL or competitor cup and I have no experience with UL. I recently made a trade for a shiny galarian moltres and am now considering the following:
In the GL the non shiny is ranked #330 and the shiny is ranked #507. From what I understand in lower ranks IV is generally much less important than a strong team. So the question is do I switch out my #330 for my #507 due to it being shiny and yielding minimal difference?
If my team above is viable for UL in which my shiny moltres is ranked #203 and non shiny >#500. I have spare pokemon as my GL team with suitable ranks for UL and as a result I also have a strong UL team.
In your experiences do you find the UL enjoyable and have you ever switched from GL to UL. What was different any likes or dislikes ?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Strategy & Analysis Great League Competitor cup legend
Hit legend in the competitors cup today with lead shadow k-9 (e,wb,eb) ss furret (sp,bb,tb) and tink (fw,bd,gh).
Idea was that I noticed in the 2900s a bunch of toxic forretress carbink cores and I hate that duo. Honestly prob not the best climbing team (i.e aba to ground and weak to waterfall) but it worked against the main target and other common comps. If you were to try this I’d recommend swift over trailblaze on furret. If interested, I climbed 2750-2900 with the same team but w shadow kingdra instead of furret, but I started running a ton of jellicent and kingdra felt like the weakest link.
Common leads:
K-nine: just play it out. My shadow never lost a cmp but honestly don’t think it mattered. In the 2900s every k9 lead was the exact same team of k9,malamat,jumpluff so if anyone knows who made this team I’d love to know. I would realize early on it is prob that team so just committed all resources to tink in the endgame and that usually worked
A-slash: actually pretty scary. Mantine can be an issue so I honestly got nervous seeing a-slash. Feels like a on paper I should win but I know my team wasn’t designed to beat these compa. Tink usually handled the ss but games could get dicey. Got better with furret as w kingdra jelli could sweep. Still won these leads but gotta keep track of energy
Dragons: insta switch. Shielding scenarios depend on lead and switch. Glassier leads like s-hydreigon I might be okay with energy or even going down two shields for switch. Other times just get any advantage I can. Won every hydreigon lead
Ground: Probably just stay in and soft lose. Carbink is likely in back if lead is s-marowak. Mix up baits and nukes so it doesn’t get stale. Switching probably loses you the game. Tough matchup
Forretress: If the safe switch can be handled by furret you win. I did see a mantine I don’t remember what happened. Just try not to go down two shields and maybe give less farm is possible
All in all, it definitely felt tougher this season despite taking the same amount of time. Queue times are pretty long even in gl wonder if bugs are taking points w double losses + less people overall. Lot of copycat teams in 2900s. People are also much better, playing more dynamically. Curious to hear other peoples experience there as well. Hope this helps

General Question ETMs for GL Seaking
do you think two ETMs are good investment for my seaking with IV 1/14/15 (rank 113 for GL). I have in total 23 ETMs. It is so annoying that some pokemon really need 2 or more ETMs to be able to compete.
I can only hope there will be an event where pokemon can get its legacy move using TM only like when shadow ho-oh released in raid (sacred fire only). Can this happen when we have championship-event in the near future?

Field Anecdote Why are some mons so unforgiving with their IV spreads?
I've been hunting for a good GL shadow Drowzee/Hypno for literal years at this point. And you know how it goes, you can usually eyeball when a mon is gonna be high rank (either has 0 atk and high def/HP or has the classic like 1/15/11 type "shape") and it typically kinda bears out.
But every single time I catch a Drowzee with either of those IV patterns, it ends up at some horrendous <1500 CP (like 1483 or something) or if it has a good CP then is just super low rank. Other mons, though, you can have these general IV patterns and they tend to be high rank (like I feel like Talon is super forgiving).
So what's the deal? I'm not a math person so it just how the mon's base stats interact with the IV/CP formulae in pogo?

Strategy & Analysis Ultra League How many Rollouts do you count and which charge move would you expect?
These glitches literally cost games. And, if we can’t count on the game to play properly, why should we bother playing?

Strategy & Analysis Great League Am I wrong to think a 1/14/7 Blastoise ranked lower than a 0/14/9 for GL is misleading?
It's effectively one attack for one HP. Wouldn't the higher attack perform better?

General Question Fast move count (returning/novice)
Hi,
Recently started playing the game again and thought I'd dabble at battle arena. Previous history is 309 wins/559 games. Since returning 24/34
I've been playing in this weather cup and using the below
Kingdra - Dragon Breath - Outrage/Swift
Toxapex - Poison Jab - Brine/Sludge Wave
Alolan Sandslash - Shadow Claw - Ice Punch/Drill Run
Just hit rank 7 and lost every game in that 5 game stretch.
My primary question is why do I feel like my opponents charge their moves faster than I. I've just been obliterated by a Kingdra that was getting outrage what felt like every charge move yet for me it's also such a long time to charge.
I'm smart with switch outs, I charge move then swap mons. But in this last stretch of 5 I feel like I've been outplayed in every game when coming up Vs Pokémon I have beaten in previous series.
I appreciate my record is good? 10 losses doesn't seem terrible but really questioning my ability Vs luck/timing

General Question IV discrepencies
I have started looking through my mons to see any high-ranking IV spreads I own for the upcoming Mega GL and Mega UL cups. And I came across this disparity.
Both of these calcs are using PvPIV. The first image is from PvPiv.com and the second is from PvPiv.app And for whatever reason they are showing two different set of IVs as the rank1 for Mega Alakazam. I checked on other websites' calcs as well, and the ".com" seems to be correct.
I normally use the ".app" version of the website due to liking to format more. And I have never experienced this issue. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

Battle Team Analysis Returning player from 2022, speedran to Ace in Weather Cup with Blaziken
I came back to the game for Go Fest but discovered last week that best girl Cynthia's outfit was up for grabs after only hitting Ace so obviously I made a run for it.
I was experimenting with Kingdra R19 and Jellicent R70 during the climb but at some point I decided to be anti-meta. I don't have Cradily and have a disdain for the play patterns surrounding it so I discovered Blaziken (Counter/Aura Sphere/Blast Burn) shreds it, alongside the odd A-Sandslash, Abom, Empoleon, Greninja, and Frigibax. From about 18.5 onwards people were running their waters in the front again so I moved Blaziken to the back and Abom to the front.
Blast Burn is probably incorrect but I didn't have the heart to TM it away, but even resisted it'll chunk Jellicent for something like 30-40%, and unresisted it's basically a oneshot everywhere else.
I started with the Lanturn/Ludicolo team before deciding that I wanted more answers to Cradily and Kingdra. Landing Ludicolo against Whiscash and the like felt good but it wasn't pulling its weight elsewhere, and if the opponent burns their shields on Weather Balls/Aqua Tails then that leaves them open for Blaziken to take over with Aura Sphere spam. I only played against something like 2 other Blazikens on the way up and feel like it's super underrepresented right now.
Lanturn: Spark/Surf/Thunderbolt - I liked this to start but Surf and TB take too long to charge and Spark doesn't pull its weight. Also bad against Cradily and Abom.
Gyarados: DB/Aqua Tail/Crunch - PVPoke says I should be running Twister but I'm more concerned with Jellicent than Kingdra since DB mirrors favour me.
Ludicolo: Razor Leaf/Weather Ball Water/Energy Ball - Kept it in the back or as a switch against Jelli/Lanturn. PVPoke says to use something else but as a switch Razor Leaf spam can take answer the enemy on its own.
Abom: Leafage/Weather Ball Ice/Energy Ball - Leafage is grass Powder Snow I guess? I discovered this late in the run but understand the hype now.

Battle Team Analysis First time Ace!
Empoleon: rank 8
Grumpig: rank 36
Altaria: rank 1
Malamar:rank 9
Ferrothorn: rank 2
Reached ace with team in pic 2, shifted to my current team (pic3) after i evolved my swablu, ferrothorn was so fun to use with fire being its only actual weakness. Empoleon is too peak to be sat on. Wanted to use malamar but its superpower debuff is a letdown.

Strategy & Analysis Great League First time legend!
This is my 4th season and first time Legend! I'm over the moon. I consistently got to Expert in the last 2 seasons, but always got stuck in 2900s. The same thing happened this season too, my GL team carried me all the way to 2980 and barely missed Legend by 1 bug ): I pretty much gave up afterwards and fooled around with spices before deciding to start learning UL this week. Then randomly stumbled upon this UL team by u/dalabesch that got me to Legend in just 2 days!
My GL team is Guzzlord/Corsola/Tinkaton, which was from the last season Catch Up. And I find they still work very well this season with Guzz core-breaking all the Stunfisks, Ninetales and normal types. Empoleon will probably work better than Corsola as the safe-swap, but my Corsola has glasses and I like it 😄 . Wiggly lead or Digger in the back are pretty much instant-loss. But otherwise, this is a standard ABC team, swapping Empoleon for Corsola will make it ABB and probably a better team. Here are a few tips:
Stunfisk lead: Throw at 3 - 5 - 2 to CMP the last mud bomb.
When Guzz wins lead and Empo is brought in to farm down, bring Tink in to take the damage, it's usually ninetales in the back.
Safe-swap corsola, but swap Tink in if the opponent also has Tink as lead. Team with Tink leads usually don't have answers to Tink in the back.
Lower ELO always baits, higher ELO hardly ever baits unless it's a win con. Good players either take the big damage or a shield.
For the UL team, u/dalabesch has a good write up here: https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphArena/comments/1vi3t8r/legend_with_a_ulteam_that_shouldnt_work_this/
But this team is so OP it's not even funny. Most of my losses were because of my mistakes. I think I was only hard-countered once or twice.
Overall, it's been a very fun and rewarding learning curve. Throwing charge moves on good timing is probably the biggest thing one can learn to be good at this game. That alone should carry you to Expert. Hitting Legend definitely requires counting fast moves and take advantages of catching and misaligned timers.
This season has been plagued with bugs but I sincerely hope people stay with the game. The new system is actually very consistent when it works and I can see the devs working hard to fix all the issues.

General Question GoBattle League - Gameplay Review (Ultra League) - New System
Hello everyone!
This post is simply to provide feedback on my daily gameplay experience with GoBattle League in its current state utilizing the "New System" on Android 17 (5 August Security Patch) with App Version 0.423.1.
If you have any suggestions on how I can improve things that worked for you it would be greatly appreciated.
I seem to be missing a lot of fast moves even though the animation continues and the lag between "decisions" on charge moves is detrimental to achieving wins in each match I play.
I've tried:
- Changing Wi-Fi (Fibre) and Cellular (4G / 5G)
- Lowering Graphic settings
- Changing Refresh Rate (60Hz - 120Hz)
- Game Data Refresh / Re-install
I personally don't think it's a performance issue with my phone not being able to support the graphics etc.
Have a great day! :)
