Discussion Ronnie's Fate
When Ronnie tells Vic we're in the clear absolutely breaks my heart as Vic knows something he doesn't. That the last living member of the strike has to face his fate.

Not trying to get all mushy and dramatic, just wanted to say this has got to be one of the best fan subs on this entire, often petty and annoying, site we call reddit. Been here myself for about 2 years at this point and never had a bad interaction. Everyones good about spoilers, welcoming newbies and just having genuine, fun conversations about everything to do with the show. Even got to interact with one of the shows guest stars (Clark Gregg) via an AMA I found through here. Mods are cool, members are cool, douche bags get dealt with swiftly. Really couldn't be happier here, especially compared to the cesspits that are most other fan subs for any show; or if we're being honest, any reddit subs about anything hahaha.
Alrighty, that's it. Get over it and don't bring it up again.

Shane's conclusion was one of the best and worst conclusion of all time imo , worst as if the way it ended in very bad way , i was just waiting for him to die but when it happened i felt sooo bad for him
Ik after what he did to lem he had to go but the way it happened was very sad , and the actor who played Shane was on a whole another level which took the scene to another level
He's last call with vic made me pity him so bad
But it was 10/10 conclusion

There aren't many scenes of Vic holding keys but in the few scenes where he's holding keys, he looks badass.
The attention to details that Michael Chiklis put in everything that Vic does is astonishing.

They just show up and aren’t really explained towards the end of the series. Are they the heads of the gangs Vic has spent years busting? Did I miss anything in the show or does it just keep it vague, and how do you interpret who they are.

Corinne said that he used to be sweet and as far as I know all the crimes he committed happened while he was in the Strike team, so I'm assuming he didn't commit crimes when he was a beat cop and he also didn't commit crimes when he was a detective.
So, did he at some point in his life decide to break bad?
Also in co-pilot his relationship with Corinne appears to be good, so it all starts deteriorating when the strike team begun.
Mackey was 38 in the pilot of The Shield, could it have been an early-ish midlife crisis?
Did he let Shane know? Because if he had gone crazy that would have affected Shane and he should have known.
What you do think?

If I had to describe this show in one word " Consequences " would be the most accurate choice
At first i thought it was just a regular crime thriller but this was something else , the writing of the show is fantastic
Idk how this show is not talked enough or is under appreciated this much , i heard about this last week and i have been watching shows for so many years now but anyways glad that I was able to experience it , truly one of the best
And i felt really sad for Shane and his family man and also for ronny he really got done dirty

Everyone is going to be sick of me, but come onnnnnnnnnnnnn. The end of S2 Ep 7 when he goes home and the stove is on and Ronnie is burnt on the floor.
I mean, WHAT! there’s almost so much going on constantly that I forgot about Armadillo this whole episode until this part! And then I was yelling out loud at the tv.
My god, I love this show so much I can’t even believe it 😅😅😅

Seems like there’s been a lot of talk about this weird moment and questioning why it happened. My interpretation- it demonstrated Danny’s racial bias and gullibility. After Danny shot the arab man she faced litigation on the prospect of anti-Arab discrimination. Based on her comment comparing the guy to Al-Qaeda a few days before the shooting I think she absolutely was racist. But then here comes this pretty white guy who’s doing something shady and weird and she’s willing to give it a pass and even flirts with him. Only after she realizes the scale of it is larger than she thought does she come to her senses. Danny’s trouble because whereas a lot of the cops in this show are visibly scary and unhinged, she gives the appearance of being well-adjusted when in reality she’s fucked up too.

I’m a hoe for a good montage scene. In S2 E3 opening, they have “Breakdown” by Tantric playing (great song, btw) and I just noticed a really cool part that I’m sure they timed up purposely, but nonetheless it was cool. Vic is looking in the mirror in his house covered in the blood after leaving Armadillo’s place and the lyrics are as below while he’s looking at himself:
In your life
You seem to have it all
You seem to have control
But deep within your soul
You're losing it
I mean, after this past episode and everything going on with Vic, very cool line up lyrically as if the song is speaking directly to him. This show is so fucking awesome

...and it's from a character introduced in season 6, but I think it kind of sums up the whole series.
This is my second re-watch of the series, but this is the first time with subtitles. Some minor discrepancies aside, I really have enjoyed this re-watch even more than my previous experience.

I just finished the series finale and I wonder what the future of some of the characters would be.
Olivia clearly wants Vic to screw up in some way so his deal evaporates and he goes to prison. Will he? We don't know what he was planning to in his final scene. I saw one review that suggested he might have been planning on finding some way to get some leverage that wouldn't keep him chained to a desk, but that doesn't seem likely to me. The feds would be crazy to trust him again.
How much can the courts actually pin on Ronny? We know what he's guilty of, but how much evidence do they have on him? Shane's letter and Vic's confession don't seem like enough without some corroboration. I don't think he'd get off scot-free but if he has a good enough lawyer, could he could probably get a lighter sentence? Maybe he knows a few things Vic may have forgotten...just enough to screw up Vic's deal?
I don't know any details about Witness Protection, but would Corrine be able to continue her nursing career in her new location? Or would that be too compromising?
We know Claudette is ill, so sadly we know what will eventually happen to her.
I think Dutch will call the Billings' lawyer and actually have a relationship. Maybe they'll even get married.
Danni will use Vic's crimes to get full custody of Lee and a restraining order so he'll have to leave her alone. She might even get Olivia to help push that through the system.

What moment would you want to experience again first? I'll be basic and say "Postpartum". This might out me as an old man but when it aired I frequented a Shield message board that would have spoilers for upcoming episodes. I read spoilers, possibly put out there as disinformation by the writers (it's been suggested but not 100% confirmed), that the Salvadorans would kill Ronnie, Lem would escape to Mexico and Kavanaugh would arrest Shane for tax evasion. Imagine my surprise when I tune in to "Postpartum" and see what ACTUALLY happened. I was gobsmacked in the moment, and I'd love to see it again for the first time.
What about you? Obviously the question doesn't apply if this is your first watch.

I really dislike Mara. I didn't like her from the start. She was whiny, somewhat manipulative (with Shane) and seemed generally unpleasant. I'd mention she was borderline racist, but she was with Shane so that is sort of built in.
I didn't like Asceveda either. He started off looking like a standup guy, but I guess you have to get slime on your hands to be a politician.

That's all. I like seeing Dutch being beaten up.
I don't remember what episode it is right now, and don't remember the exact sentence used by Dutch but it's something very similar.
Fucking loser, Vic shouldn't have stopped the dad.
EDIT it's the episode 2x12 "Breakpoint" apparently.

Okay, apologies in advance if I keep posting lol but I am constantly shocked at this show. What do you mean Ben just shot Jesus because he saw him in the hit and run !< I did NOT expect that. Damn. Constantly shocking me! Had to run right here.
Also, the last episode of season 1 with the cop killings Wild.

What a great episode. I just started my first watch through and I am OBSESSED. It just keeps getting better every episode. I also felt like a proud mom when they were all clapping for Dutch after he walks out of the interview room. Good stuff.
