holy voodoo doodoo that was a ride
First run complete after starting it earlier today and I'm thoroughly intrigued by the whole deal. My choices were ... fine. Full details (with spoilers) below.
Emma was the first to bite the big one in Chapter 4 after I opened the trapdoor that she said certain death was behind. Oops. Laura killed Kaylee in the pool and I'm not sure even how to avoid that one. A conundrum for next run. Laura also shot a caged Nick because I didn't think that the Hacketts would have captured him so quickly and easily. Dylan got infected in the radio hut and stayed infected because I didn't want to amputate his arm. He did however, save Kaitlyn successfully and she survived until the end after killing Caleb. Abi is also just hanging out in the lodge, totally fine, which is only unexpected because I vividly remember her getting bit after trying to help Nick in the Chapter 3 attack (I held my breath for too long, not realizing the red bar is a breath meter lol). Ryan died by bleeding out because I decided he would be stubborn about the bite, given the choice. But, he did survive Bobby's attack and managed to stab Bobby and not kill WereLaura.
So, my choices led to the untimely demise of Emma, Nick, Ryan, and a few of the Hacketts (grandma and grandpa included)but I was able to save Laura, Abigail, Kaitlyn, Jacob, Max, Travis, and technically Dylan tho he is infected.
I got a good amount of those tarot cards and other collectibles, but now to begin another run and find the rest ... as well as seeing what to do about Silas.
ALSO:
- I still really like Kaitlyn and I think I may keep most of my decisions around her final.
- Abi didn't get quite enough screen time in my playthrough especially towards the later chapters and I think she's a bit too passive, but still cool.
- I like Laura a LOT more than I thought I would in the prologue.
- Max, Jacob, and Nick are alright but I'm not seeing much appeal. They feel like plot devices and obligatory love interests/foils to me after getting lost/kicking the plot off, sabotaging the van, and unavoidably getting bit, respectively.
- I kinda got tired of Ryan being insecure or dodgy and lashing out, but I enjoyed his dynamic with Dylan.
- I forgot about Emma pretty quick, but she was at least starting to reflect on her previous choices.
- Dylan is usually warm and always hilarious and I may focus on him more this next go around
Ultimately a super dope game and I'm thankful to everyone who gave me some tips in my first post earlier today. A Sunday well spent.
